House was great for our multigenerational vacation! Lovely, cozy, & clean home with lots of space for everyone! Lots of outdoor space which we enjoyed but mosquitoes are rough. Area is close to beach, few minutes to Popham State Park which was great! Overall very quiet location, not too many eating places or supermarkets close by so I would recommend bringing food/meals. Although can definitely find places if you don’t mind a bit of a drive. Host & caretakers on site were very helpful & responded quickly to any concerns. We would definitely recommend & hope to come back again!

The host was amazing and they were fast to respond. The house has literally everything for a big family. The kitchen is built to feed an army. Incredible historic in for a huge family,Only thing to call out is the bugs in main are for real. They sprayed the property but when it was really hot there was no escaping them. We also had a heat wave so 2 days were tough without ac but the house had a lot of fans. The other days no ac was not an issue at all because of the great breeze. The freezer had issues during our stay so that was not ideal but the owner was quick to resolve it. Great host and great property

Secluded retreat with lots of space

We absolutely loved the space and the location. We were all able to have separate living space while also allowing lovely scenic places for us to gather as a group. We loved walking down to Spinney's and the beach, and appreciate the amenities that were provided! We hope to come back again.

Wonderful!

Our family of 12 had a fantastic vacation at Stone House Manor! Jane was a wonderful host and gave us an extensive tour at check-in. All the rooms were even better than the pictures and the third floor space was perfect for the kids to have their own space. We loved walking to the beach every day and our Black Lab had the best time of her life! Thanks Jane for everything!!!

Jane, the host and her caretaker daughter and sone in law are wonderful - so pleasant available, helpful a d generous. The house is quite old but beautifully maintained. We were a group of 15, who used all 7 bedrooms comfortably. The kitchen is large with every possible gadget pot, pan and dish there for the finding ! It is equipped as a commercial kitchen - very lg gas stove, gas griddle and double oven and broiler. The best part is the largeglassed and screened porch and beautiful grounds. Hunenwell ( small beach, pert of Popham is wonderful with lots of birds, fish and we saw 3 seals in the water. Water is beautiful. It is about an 8 minute walk away or can drive. Popham State Patk and large beach are a longer walk or short drive away. No green flies or mosquitoes which are everywhere else at Hunenwell. Our 7 grand children and their parents had a wonderful time as did Grammy and Grampa. Few minor negatives -aggressive mosquitos ( definitely use bug spray).and the Silver Lake which did not live up to our expectations - possibly because of draught. The bottom is extremely mucky with expanses of water lilies nearly everywhere.Probsbly better kayaking which we did not do Overall it is a unique place and easy to have a fantastic time. Rain or shine! My grandkids want to return! As do we!

Lovely stay - perfect weather

Our sojourn at Stone House Manor was peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable! We were a collection of foodies and cooks, and the well stocked kitchen was a tremendous asset, as we ate in almost every night. Rachael was always available to answer questions, and the owner Jane could not have been more helpful. For example, they brought an air mattress that we were able to set up in one of the studies to accommodate our large party. The house was well appointed, and it was truly a home away from home. We reveled and all of the outdoor activities, the great lawn, the lake, and the nearby beaches. All in all, we could not have asked for a better stay!

Phenomenal House

This is a unique property in a beautiful part of Maine. The house is perfect for a large group - especially if you love to cook because the kitchen - and TWO large butler pantry with everything you could ever want or need - were amazing. The property is huge and the walk to the beach - as well as the short drive to the spectacular Popham Beach State Park - makes the location terrific. Easy drives for lobster, oysters, etc. Weather wasn’t the greatest so we appreciated a large house and the huge glassed-in porch where we spent a lot of our time. Tim & Jane were terrific. As other reviews have mentioned, the mosquitoes really are a “thing” so be prepared. It really was a lovely week with our adult kids.

Beautiful and private vacation home

This turn of the century home was magical for our family. The view from the house looking down to Silver Lake is tranquility at its best. We had plenty of room with room to spare for our seven adults and four small children. The house is very well equipped and the beach is a short drive/walk away. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this lovely home. Susan Heinecke

Family Reunion

The property is gorgeous. The house is a mansion. The kitchen/ pantry was perfect for a large group. The beds were comfortable and the hosts were very helpful.

Dream vacation setting

This is a fantastic place! The photos don’t show just how magnificent the Stonehouse Manor is. The kitchen, in particular, has great commercial quality appliances, including two dishwashers and a huge fridge. There are excellent grills and griddles and every kitchen gadget you could hope for. A great place to cook for a big group! Everything was comfortable and well stocked. Our group of families enjoyed lounging in hammocks, paddling the lake in the provided kayak, playing badminton and croquet, and of course going to nearby Popham Beach. As long as you pack bug spray, you’re sure to have a great time!

Dream destination with every amenity

Absolutely a heavenly experience with great beach access, abundant space and activities for the whole group of 11 of us. Everyone had their space as well as great gathering places. Fantastic destination rain or shine. Easy to work with Jane and Tim too, they were very gracious.
