Beautiful, tranquil and secluded

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautiful and Sashi is an attentive host. This was our first visit to the NIcoya coast, and we enjoyed it very much. We were looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful, sunny spot and that is just what we got. We were there during the dry season in February.

The best things about this property: The house itself is well-kept. Our favorite spot was definitely the wide veranda surrounded by lovely palms. The master bed is very comfortable, the view out every window is beautiful, having two bathrooms, and the library of reading material. And Sashi herself, who helped us find organic produce, medicine when needed, good restaurants, and made a reservation for a surfing lesson.

There is a dearth of comfortable furniture in the house, but we found our favorite chairs and moved them wherever we wanted to be. There were ants in the house, but we have those at home too, and they were easily dealt with.

Be prepared for night noises (I was glad for my earplugs) and cool showers (actually quite welcome in the warm climate). Also be prepared to drive miles of rough gravel roads to get there--it's best to rent a larger vehicle or use a shuttle.

We were pleasantly surprised by how many wonderful restaurants were nearby AND how easy it was to find vegetarian and vegan options at the restaurants. La Luna and El Chivo were our favorites. The beach was just beautiful! We spent most of our time at Playa Pelada, but also went to Playa Guiones to surf. Guiones also has great restaurants and some nice shops, but is more crowded and commercial than Pelada.

Overall, a great community to vacation in, and this house a very nice place to stay. We'd love to go back!

Quiet place near beautiful beaches

  • 3 of 5

We stayed for three weeks and had our children and grandchildren come at various times. The home has a very large second bedroom which was Great for our extra guests. It was a short walk to a beautiful beach and a few restaurants and a tuktuk could get two people around very easily to explore playa guiones which is the next beach over where there is more activity. Shashi was very helpful with making arrangements for us and advising us on things to do. The house was spacious but the appliances and plumbing are getting old so you can't do much cooking there. The house was on a very quiet street away from the dusty roads which was nice. Lots of trees for shade and a nice breeze across the porch helped us stay cool in the afternoon.

Beautiful home in quiet area

  • 4 of 5

This is a great property if you like to have space, quiet, and privacy but still be near the beaches, waves, and restaurants.

The beautiful beaches are within walking distance but you'll probably want to rent a car or quad to get around to the different beaches and breaks.

The kitchen equipment is simple so eating out may be easier than trying to cook. La Luna is a fabulous place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it's right on the nearest beach, Playa Pelada.

Private, Quaint, and Perfectly Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I traveled to Nosara for the fifth time and have to say Casa Ceiba is our favorite place to stay! The house is spacious, with unique floors and architecture. We don't usually stay inside much on our vacations, but we took advantage of the wonderful shady covered porch and hammocks for afternoon siestas. We loved watching birds and monkeys in the nearby trees. We loved our long walks (10-12 miles/day) on the multiple beaches, Nosara river, Hiking trails, Seekret Spot for espresso and gelato, Il Pepperoni for wood-fired pizza and La Luna beachfront restaurant. This location is perfect for people who want a simple, quiet and secure place to stay while exploring the beauty of Nosara. Sasha, the property manager was friendly, knowledgeable, and was happy to share information about the area.

Private, spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a relaxing and rejuvenating stay in this spacious and comfortable house situated on a large property amidst lovely tropical vegetation. We particularly appreciated the feeling of privacy and being in a residential neighborhood even though we were just a short walk from spectacular beaches, restaurants and a very handy small grocery store. It felt like being a part of a small rural community. A real plus was having the gracious English speaking property manager on hand to provide any help we needed, answer questions and connect us with the many services and recreational opportunities available: hiking, yoga, massages, adventure tours etc. This was a wonderful, memorable vacation.

Palm-shaded retreat in the jungle

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I traveled to Nosara during our honeymoon and were delighted to stumble upon Casa Ceiba! We very much appreciated its understated aesthetic and environmentally sensitive spirit. The house is cool and spacious. Although we spent most of our time outside exploring Nosara's amazing beaches and interesting jungle towns, we hid from the hot afternoon sun on the shady covered porch in hammocks, watching birds and wildlife, and listening to monkeys in the nearby trees — which is exactly what we had been searching for all week. Sashi is extremely helpful and happy to share her wealth of knowledge to help her guests appreciate, understand and explore Nosara. We loved our short walks to the beach, the Nosara river, the farmer's market, the Seekret Spot for espresso and gelato, Il Pepperoni for pizza and the oh so increible La Luna beachfront restaurant. Wonderful location, wonderful hosts. A great choice for nature lovers who value beach access and want a simple, quiet and secure place to stay while exploring the beauty of Nosara.
