Disliked: Communication
We do not drop poor reviews lightly. We rented a two unit house for 5 nights for 3,000. Out confirmation said we would have the place to ourselves. Instead, we had noisy construction crews on site, without any warning. When we complained and specifically asked that no one be on site for the remainder of our stay, the host agreed. That is not what happened. The crews showed up daily, sawing through brick and mortar in what appeared to be an addition. This all happened right outside our door, precluding the use of the yard and patio— We were uncomfortable throughout the stay and said so to the host. We also called VRBO during the visit to intervene. They also said no one would be on site after contacting the host. Still, construction crews showed up each day. The noise and family discomfort with having strangers on site detracted from what was to be a joyful family reunion. There were other things (dishwasher not working and mice). We were very disappointed.
