About the property

PROPERTY_TYPE_CABIN, 1 Bedrooms, 1.00 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Anchors A-Way is a classic 1965 A-Frame. The present owners, have been using it as a family getaway since they purchased it in 1970. It's a time capsule of mid-century modest. With only 600 square feet it's a darling little gem. The living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom are all downstairs, and it includes 2 built in twin beds that also serve as sofa's. The loft has a queen bed. This house is for the young, or young at heart as it's got a ladder-stairway to the loft. It's super close to the beach, but in a marvelous wind protected location so you can enjoy the deck in the morning, afternoon and evening. It has as much outdoor living space as there is inside.

Enjoy elegant fine dining with an ocean view at the Driftwood Shores resort just a few blocks away, or enjoy Burgers & Brew 'where the locals hang out' at Jerry's Place. Anchors A-Way is a short drive from the Historic Old Town Florence gift shops, wine bars, coffee bistros, and fabulous seafood restaurants. Explore some of the best fishing on one of 17 local lakes, or play on some of the finest sand dunes, and state parks that Oregon has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We felt immediately welcomed by the personal note, sand dollar, bottle of wine and information notebook. We used the notebook every day as we planned our stay. The comfy-cozy feel to what we came to call "home" welcomed us each time we came back from an outing. The photos of the cabin showed just what it was like. Even so we said "wow!" when we walked in. It was the perfect place for the four of us to enjoy four days of exploring. Granddaughter, age 9: I really like the sliding cabinets and painted towel hanger in the bathroom. Grandson, age 13: Amazed at how well it had been kept and thought the kitchen was a great place because there was so much to use. He liked the balcony because he was able to play a game of catch from the top to the floor. Also liked the Wi-Fi. The grandparents would love to return alone and enjoy this by themselves!

My family and I loved everything about this cabin. Cozy, clean, nice large deck, ocean wave sounds, adorable vintage decor, fun Loft, very quite setting, etc... We would love to stay here again.

Funky and Fun!

  • 4 of 5

My family loved staying in this retro-tacular A-frame in Florence. There's so much orange charm! A steep ladder leads to the sleeping loft, so this house is better for elementary-aged kids rather than toddlers. The house is set back from the road in a quiet neighborhood near Heceta Beach. The front deck is shady and private with trees and shrubbery while you can still hear ocean waves in the distance. The town of Florence has few nice eateries, so we spent most of our three evenings in Florence at the cabin. Prop Mgr greeted us by leaving a bottle of wine, a local sand dollar, and a personalized welcome note. That was really nice! There's no laundry in the house (bummer) but a great nearby laundromat on Hwy 101. The beach is a short walk and especially calm in the mornings. Even in late June, we often had the beach to ourselves. I hope to make this darling home a stop on our future travels!
