Westwind #304 is a west corner gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 3rd floor overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 960 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living area. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer. There are two full baths with a tub/shower combo. The street-side master has an en suite bathroom and the hall bathroom has a tub/shower combo as well. King, Queen, Sofa Sleeper and hall-way bed bunks. Sleeps 8. No Monthly Rentals.

Westwind is a 9-story building with 4 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. The building has new exterior paint colors and new windows and sliding glass doors.

A little messy, but still nice

The location was perfect, we were right on the beach and had a balcony if we wanted to sit out, the apartment was able to stay nice and cool if we wanted it to. The only problem we found was that it seemed as though the only thing they cleaned before we arrived was the bathroom. There was sand all over the hallway, in the living room, and one of our friends found an empty juice box in the bed.

Bathroom

The toilet tissue holder in one of the bathrooms was broken. I’m certain that housekeeping must have seen this when cleaning the unit after the guest before us checked out. The bed linens and mattress were not top quality at all—worn and in need of replacing. Overall, the unit was okay-comfortable and conveniently located.

Although we enjoyed or stay, there were a couple of undisclosed details about our unit and complex that would have caused us to not book the unit had we been informed of them. First, the unit had barely and air flow from the air conditioning vent in the master bedroom. The owners have addressed the problem by mounting a fan on the vent, but it only marginally mitigates the problem. The room was consistently several degrees warmer than the rest of the unit. Secondly, The large development across the street apparently has beach access servitude along the side of the Westwind complex. there were MANY people coming to the beach right behind Westwind and setting up their tents in the early morning. Because of this and because of the relatively narrow depth of the beach behind Westwind, we had a hard time finding a place on the beach near the complex whenever we went out to the beach. Had these matters been disclosed to us by your company in advance, we would not have elected to stay at this complex and would have definitely avoided renting the particular unit. I feel that I was mislead by your company for not disclosing these significant details of the unit and complex in advance of accepting my booking. It has caused me to be hesitant to use your company again.
