There is no kitchen on the second level. If you are yearning to breathe fresh air and be on beautiful Lake Lure, come hang out at Around The Lake. This family-friendly lakefront cottage offers spectacular views of majestic mountains and an alluring lake that will rejuvenate your soul. Relax on either of the two back decks in this serene setting that overlooks a cove and mountains across the lake.

The home features two separate independent levels, perfect for large families. Enjoy swimming, canoeing, and much more. We feel confident you will enjoy your vacation "Around the Lake."

This lakefront beauty is 7.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 9 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 19.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Family Reunion

Perfect accommodations for our large (10 person) group. Location couldn't have been better! Maybe a mini fridge downstairs would be convenient for bottled water and making coffee without having to go upstairs. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be back!

Family Vacay

The views from this home are gorgeous. There is plenty of sleeping area for large families, the only downfall is 2 bedrooms are on the main level and the other four are on the lower level. As other reviews have mentioned, there is limited parking. Overall this was a great location for our extended family vacation.

Around the Lake

The house was well equipped and very comfortable. The view from the screen porch was simply beautiful. The children had a great time fishing and swimming in the lake. Only downside was that the downstairs air conditioning went kaput toward the end of the week. Our guests chose to leave a day early due to the heat. The property manager is issuing me a refund for that one day. Would definitely stay there again.

Classic lake house

Very clean. Well maintained, but not updated. It’s on the lake. Has Kayaks and a dock. No inside access to down stairs. Internet is on the slow side. We had a lot of fun. Just be prepared to slow down a little.

Around the lake

It was great. The only problem we had were no and side stairs and the last night there was a bear walking around in the middle of the night and had that been earlier in the evening when the boys were going downstairs to go to bed, it would have been a problem. Luckily, it wasn’t but the house needs inside stairs.

Round the Lake

We absolutely loved staying there. The kitchen was large enough for all the cooks at one time. Pans could use a little updating, but there was plenty of pots to cook with. We spent a lot of time at the dock. Kids loved swimming; actually, they learned a little about how to swim. The kayaks were great. We took turns since there was so many of us. We rented a pontoon and took a tour of the lake. So many beautiful houses. We found the rope swing and the guys thoroughly enjoyed that. The house had everything that you could possibly need. We thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this incredible property.

Update

Concrete on driveway was coming up and very slippery and rocky. The house was not cleaned and there were no blankets. Very beautiful location but a lot of repairs on the house or needed.

Sleeps the whole family

This was a beautiful location. There were plenty of beds and plenty of rooms for everyone. I read about an old oven in another post, but they must have updated the oven since then. The oven was gas and looked brand new. My only suggestion is to add a broom. If there was one there, we couldn't find it. Other than that our stay was fabulous and we would love to return next year.

Lake Lure rental house

Hi I'll start with the shortfalls of the property then move onto the good points. First, I'd like to say it's an older house. Cracks in the driveway. Some rooms could use a new paint. The Stove is circa 1970 Era. We did finally figure out how to turn it on. Thank goodness for YouTube. One main drawback is there is no inside stairway between the top and bottom floors. You have to go outside between floors to get to your destination. In most cases this isn't wasn't a hassle but our last day was pouring rain and you had to put on a rain coat to go between floors. Good Points; Location, Location, Location !! Right on a point of the island looking at the mountains and the Lake. Very Beautiful. Another plus the owners screened in the upstairs outside deck. It's a great location to take in the beautiful lake. There is a nice dock for tieing up a boat or launching a kayak if you have one. All in all I would give the vacation 5 stars if you can overlook that you are in an older house. Thanks Thanks

The grounds and external appearance very slipshod and run down looking. Many items that were supposed to be provided were not there. No instructions for using the outdated gas oven. Parking inadequate and very difficult. Would never stay there again.

Family Relaxtion

We had the most amazing time, this is a great place for large families. Plenty of space, once you arrive no need to go anywhere. Make sure you shop ahead of time for groceries, after that they have everything you need and the lake was perfect to just hop in. Or even fish from the deck. Definitely planning a return trip.
