LAKE LURE HAS RE-OPENED. Come stay with us and celebrate this exciting event!
Highland Hideaway is a thoughtfully appointed home in the Rumbling Bald Resort at Lake Lure. As our guest at Highland Hideaway, you will have access to the resort amenities - enjoy the Rumbling Bald beach, indoor/outdoor pools, lazy river, golf, tennis/pickleball, mini golf, sauna, spa, fitness center, restaurants and bar (additional cost may apply for certain amenities and the resort rules must be observed by all guests). ** Pets are not allowed.

The home opens up to a spacious living room with lots of natural light. The dining room is open to the living room and is tastefully decorated to provide all the comforts of home so you can enjoy a relaxing vacation. A well equipped kitchen provides all of the basics necessary to prepare meals for your family. The refrigerator/freezer features 'craft ice' for drink aficionados. A propane gas grill just off the breakfast nook on the spacious deck is available to guests who enjoy grilling. The primary bedroom is located on the main level and has an en-suite with a walk-in shower and a tub. Two more bedrooms on the main level share the hall bath with a shower/tub combo.
The lower level offers a fantastic family and game space with a pool table that can be easily converted to ping pong for some friendly competition. Another bedroom is located in the lower level with access to a full bath with a large tiled shower and a dry sauna. The large flat screen TV is great for watching movies and sports. A nice deck outside of the family/game room is great for listening to the birds and watching wildlife. You may even see a black bear (Please don't feed the bears!). The wooded view of Lake Lure and the mountains add to the serenity of this beautiful property. There is a FROG (finished room above the garage) bonus space that has been converted to sleeping quarters with two queen size beds.

Fun, family 4th of July

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. It was very well-equipped and roomy. It easily accommodated 9 adults and 3 children. We would love to stay her again in the future!

Three generations of our family were able to comfortably stay here. We had a few small issues (bedroom door handle coming off, smoke detector with a dying battery, etc.). We called the management company, and each issue was handled professionally and in a timely manner. The kitchen had plenty of supplies, including containers for leftovers, which was very helpful since we cook a lot! We enjoyed the ping pong table and arcade games in the lower level. We played games, went to the pool, lazy river and lake/beach. We also enjoyed pickleball and mini golf. A special memory will be that our 5-year-old grandson was the first to spot "Charlie", the neighborhood black bear.

Mountain Haven

Lovely home, Plenty of space with great amenities at the resort and in the home itself. The only issue was getting into the fitness early in the morning. Passes couldn't open door. Security was no help. They kind of gave us the runaround. We had a great time. The lake was great. Rented a pontoon, bass boats, swam and zip lined.

The house was perfect for our family’s vacation. We enjoyed the screen porch, the sauna and the games and pool table. We had a bit of rain so it was nice to have room to spread out and have amusing diversions. Great stay!

The house was perfect for our group and the amenities of the resort were great. Close to some great hikes. Enjoyed the pool. There were even pontoon, kayak and paddle board rentals at the resort!
