The Jewel Box is a real gem! Of all the vacation homes I’ve stayed in, this truly was one of the best. It was comfortable, clean and as pictured in the listing. Morning coffee on the lanai to watch the sunrise, the sound of the waves throughout the day and night. The amazingly blue water……just can’t beat it.The kitchen is stocked with every appliance, cooking/baking pans and utensils. Bathrooms stocked with soaps and plenty of towels. The bed (main level) was super comfortable (extra firm mattress which we prefer). Access to washer and dryer was also a plus.We drove along the Kalapana coast stopping in the numerous pull-off spots. The drive to McKenzie State Park is gorgeous! Pahoa is the nearest town and there is a Longs/CVS store if you need anything and that is 15-20 minutes away. Hilo is an hour, as is the Volcano. We visited both from here and enjoyed coming “home” to tranquility each day.Adam is a wonderful host! He checked in with us to be sure we were settling in and with recommendations where to explore.We miss the Jewel Box already!
