Beautiful, Comfortable Home with an Amazing View and Beach!!!
Our family rented this wonderful home for a week and we couldn't have been happier!! The home itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable - it felt like home to us. With 8 adults, the 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (all with a shower) were a must!! The kitchen was awesome and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The location was great and the setting was exactly what we were looking for! A beautiful home, nestled in the woods, overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan! The beach was great and we spent almost every day lounging in the comfy beach chairs that were provided!! I would most certainly recommend this home for a family vacation in beautiful northern Michigan and will be going back!!!!
4th of July week a Slice of Heaven
Great location, and may be the best on Lake Michigan in the Harbor Springs area. The sound of the waves put us to sleep every night. We swam every day and it was sandy and a very nice beach. We had a fire in the fire pit down by the lake and roasted marshmallows as the sun set. Nice to hang out on the deck or the viewing deck half way down the steps to the lake. No negatives really, except the front walk-way, decks and steps up to the front door were a bit too much for my father and mother in-law. We just couldn't beat the view of Lake Michigan and the sound of the waves every day, night and morning over coffee.
Wonderful beach near harbor springs village
Very peaceful! Loved our stay. Hope to be back soon!
Let the soothing sounds of Lake MI rock you to sleep!
Our two families met and drove to Harbor Springs in need of a restful week at the lake. While we had a few hiccups (there had been a miscommunication with the cleaning company and the house was not cleaned after the previous guests had departed), the owners were quick to respond, incredibly apologetic and were eager to solve the problem for us. They even offered to make us dinner reservations and bought the family ice cream while we sorted it all out. Once we got settled in, we had a great time. The house was well equipped for two families. There were small issues around the house that any older home, especially situated on the water, would have and again the owners were eager for feedback and indicated they already had addressed many of the issues. The beach area was nicer than I thought it would be - nowhere near as rocky as I had expected. The 12 and 8 year old walked up and down the beach for countless hours over the course of the week and we enjoyed evening bonfires and sunset/moonlight rides in the kayak. We loved Pondhill farms and exploring downtown, the nature center, our day trip to Macinack Island and much more. Thanks to Meg and her family for opening their lovely home to us and for being so helpful in sorting out the confusion at the begining of the stay!
Amazing Memories Made Here!
Our 4th of July week was spent in this beautiful home. A turn off the curving roads just beyond Harbor Springs and through the Tunnel of Trees lead you to this escape from the stresses of everyday life. Our family truly enjoyed our vacation here (my husband, his sister and her husband, three children, and grandma too).
The views from the home are spectacular and the windows easily prop open to let in the summer breeze. We immediately ran to the private beach and were incredibly impressed with the water access and owner-provided beach chairs and kayak. The beach is rocky so definitely recommend water shoes but we swam (even my six-year-old) and enjoyed the water by day and amazing sunsets on the beach every night (fireworks from three different spots could be viewed on July 3)!
The location is great - 2ish miles to Pond Hill Farm (terrific for kids, great rainy day activity, the restaurant is delicious with a great drink menu), about 5-6 miles to downtown Harbor Springs (Petosky Yoga is a must, Tom's Mom's Cookies really needs no explanation - just go and go again, and the town beach is relaxing and fun for a picnic).
We had plenty of room in the house with three bedrooms/two baths on the lower level and grandma could stay on the main level with her own bed and bath. A sitting room provided a great kids area with a TV and cable (god forbid one goes without for the week). There are a lot of stairs outside to the beach which is typical of all homes in this area - fine for the adults but a bit of a challenge with two two-year-olds and an 89-year-old who wasn't able to get down to the beach. Grandma still had an amazing time though and said it was her best vacation ever!
The owners are great and very responsive to text messages even coming over once to check the stove for us. Our security deposit was refunded promptly.
Would highly recommend this home for a family vacation. We had other family members staying in other properties in the area and our house was beyond the best - we were the meeting place every night for fabulous dinners on the outdoor patio, togetherness on the beach as we watched the sunset, and truly just an unforgettable vacation.
Spectacular view of Lake Michigan, trees and deer
This home was surrounded by trees trees trees. We saw numerous deer in the yard. The view from the deck is spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the surf. The beach was beautiful to walk with white rocks among the sand. The home is lovely inside and very comfortable and high quality. We enjoyed Harbor Springs and area restaurants.
