Holiday house Selca for 1 - 9 persons with 5 bedrooms - Twin house
ED Refnr. 2756648
Lavishly renovated stone house with a fully enclosed Mediterranean garden and panoramic sea views from the private infinity pool This generously laid out holiday villa is a traditional stone house that dates back to 1825. It is set in the tranquil village of Selca on the island of Brac. The house is only a few minutes drive away from the nearest beaches in and around Sumartin, a pretty village with restaurants and bars around a small port. Villa Shiraz's location offers the guests the best of both worlds: a complete peace and quiet when needed but within easy access to the Bol town nightlife. The location gives the opportunity to explore Brac island that, unlike the surrounding islands and despite the airport, has preserved its pristine modesty, authenticity and its typical Dalmatian joie de vivre until today. The island is foodie's and wine lover's destination. In 2009, the three-storey stone house has been fully renovated to a high standard. It is a small temple of family memorabilia, antiques, art objects, books and furniture, that tell family history. The interior is a mix of traditional and contemporary design with air-conditioning and wi-fi, satellite TV and a stereo system. Lavishly renovated traditional stone house with a fully enclosed Mediterranean garden and panoramic sea views.
In 2009, the three-storey natural stone house has been fully renovated to a high standard. It is a small temple of family memorabilia, antiques, art objects, books and furniture, that tell family history. The interior is a mix of traditional and contemporary design with air-conditioning and wi-fi in every room, satellite TV and a stereo system.
The 200m² of living space are divided up into a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen complete with dining area, five bedrooms and four modern bathrooms. The villa can accommodate up to nine persons. Two bedrooms have 180 cm wide beds, two more bedrooms are fitted with 160cm wide beds and the fifth bedroom offers a single bed. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, Ceran cooktop, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle and a coffee machine. The four bathrooms all have a shower, wash basin, toilet and a hairdryer.
Every room is a room with a view: either of the pool, the 1762 m high Biokovo mountain on the mainland or the island of Hvar and the Peljesac peninsula. The 40 sqm big, heated infinity pool with massage jets has been built in 2018. The property is fully fenced. There are four seating areas under shade providing leaves and a barbecue area. The garden is a typical Mediterranean garden and consists of lemon, orange, fig, almond, peach, rosemary, lavender, palm, vine and oleander trees. 30 meters from the house away there are two parking lots, which are reserved exclusively for guests. The pathway between the parking lots and the house is short but steep. There is another access to the house, which is disabled guests friendly.

Selca is a village known for its rich stonemasonry tradition. Although its first mention dates back to the 12th century, there are not more than 900 inhabitants today, but the village has a pharmacist, general practitioner, ATMs, groceries, small food market, restaurant, cafes, football pitch, basketball and tennis courts, small park and post office. To explore the island you need a car, quad, scooter, bike or boat. Because of island's scenic roads and cycling routes through the pine forests or along the shore it is a heaven for cyclists. The highest peak of the Adriatic islands, Vidova Gora above Bol town offers magnificent view on the Central Dalmatia islands. Beside a lush, green scenery be prepared for authentic cuisine. Some of island's dishes are listed as Croatia's intangible cultural heritage. The island has a millenium-long history, it has been inhabitated since the prehistoric times. You will have the opportunity to visit mystic villages stuck in time, where legends are still alive and tangible hence there is nothing easier than to believe in them. The island hides its 16th c. monastery built up high in the hills, that can only be reached on foot. And there is more history hidden in the abandoned stone quarries, sarcophagi from the Roman times or chapels from the Early Middle Ages. Not to mention that the two Adriatic Sea jewels: medieval towns on the islands Korčula and Hvar are only 1,5 hour speed boat ride away. There are many interesting things about the neghborhood worth knowing and that is why I have written my own short guide to the village and the island with the recommendations on what to see, what to do, where and what to eat and what by any means should not be missed. The guide will save you a lot of exploring time prior to your trip.
