About the property

A 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Condo, With Mountain And Ocean Views. Welcome goodies too!

Nestled in Makaha Valley, this is a clean, warm, bright, and a happy place! Peacocks freely roam the well cared for grounds, large, fragrant, flowering trees and lots of luscious lawns and shrubs. The majestic, uninhabited Waianae mountains frame the amazing views. The ocean is on the other side. Makaha Surf Beach is a two minute drive for the condominium. Many other beautiful uncrowded beaches line the west side of Oahu and are minutes away. Yes, you can see stars at night!

The condominium is located on the main floor and consists of two bedrooms, plus a very large living room with a kitchen behind a bar, a bathroom with a tile shower, and a large lanai. We are constantly making improvements to our condominium. Everything is fresh and clean! There is a free parking spot just in front of the unit.

The unit is fully appointed with everything you will need to cook and be comfortable. There is TV, Roku for streaming Netflicks and free wireless internet. Beach fun is provided for your use, too - snorkel sets, boogie boards, sand toys, cooler, beach chairs, and sarongs.

Two swimming pools and hot tubs and a tennis court are on the property.

Grocery stores, Starbucks, restaurants are just a 5-minute drive away.

So much to explore!

About Jennie Farley

My cousin and I came to Oahu from Montana and decided never to leave the Paradise. We lived in Honolulu but enjoyed visiting in Makaha Valley so much, we purchased this condominium and another so now live close by.

The beauty of the area never ceases to astound us!

Jennie Farley purchased this condo in 2013

Why Jennie Farley chose West Oahu

We bought this property because it is as far away from the metropolitan lifestyle on O'ahu as it gets, without making you feel stranded: a short drive away, there are grocery stores, restaurants and, most importantly, the beaches are gorgeous and the marine life is fantastically rich. The mountains frame the valley and are a backdrop that changes with the light from green to gold - amazing! This quiet get away is perfect for families to reconnect and enjoy the beauty around them in Makaha Valley.

What makes this condo unique

1. The best whale and dolphin watching and snorkeling tour is just 7-min. away by car. You will be able to swim next to giant turtles, too! We live here and we still regularly go on these tours. Each one is different, each one feels as though it were an entirely new experience. You see different animals each time, water color, temperature, and rhythm are different, and so are the clouds, shadows, and sounds. (BTW, you would have to drive in the morning from Honolulu an hour to get here in time to get on this excursion! But you won't have to because you will be so close to this happening opportunity!) The Dolphin Excursion is phenomenal adventure.

2. The pristine Ka'ena Point State Park is a short drive along another long gorgeous beach, Yokohama. The 2 1/2 mile hike to the tip of the Point where there is an albatross sanctuary. It is best to go in the morning when it is cooler and take water and your camera.

3. Makaha Surf Beach: You could walk here in about 15 mins. By car, you will be here in a minute or two, though. Plus, you will want to carry boogie boards and snorkeling gear (provided by the owners) with you. A cooler with water, snacks, possibly, champagne? Remember the glasses! Picture perfect, that's what this beach is. Don't forget to look behind you into the amazing Makaha Valley and Waianae Mountains. The Kona Brewing Company named a beer for this beach - Blue Wave. It is good too!

4. The resort area of Ko'olina is about a 30 minute drive from the valley. It offers fine dining and resort style entertainment.

5. Also in Ko'olina is Paradise Cove Luau is a favorite of our guests. Great family entertainment.

6. There is plenty to explore on the west side of Oahu - fabulous uncrowded beaches, hiking, activities that are close by. This area give you space and beauty every where you look - a photographer's dream

Beautiful Accommodations!

  • 3 of 5

Jennie was great and her suite was very nice! Nice touch with the start up groceries, snacks, fruit, coffee and breakfast ingredients! I've stayed at a lot of other VRBO units but this is the first time they have provided these extras.

The complex grounds were nice as well but the BBQ situation was not ideal.... I like to cook most of my meals while away and the BBQ is a staple. The BBQ's are not propane and not very close to the unit so it was not the greatest.

The general area as mentioned by other reviews is not ideal although the beaches are gorgeous! We found the people in the area to be very friendly so that made up for some of the negatives.

Wonderful Hawaiian Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Makaha Valley Plantation was wonderful! The condo was very clean and fully stocked with anything we could possibly need which was such nice treat compared to other previous vrbo rental locations we've stayed at! We loved the welcome basket with goodies and breakfast that Jennie graciously provided - came in handy as we arrived later in the day and didn't get a chance to fully shop for our stay until after settling in. Jennie provides excellent Hawaiian hospitality and aloha spirit! She was always checking in to make sure we had what we needed and offered great tips for things to enjoy around the island - very much appreciated! Our family loves Makaha Valley and we can't wait to get back for another trip. The worst part is always the day we have to leave, but we will be coming back! Would definitely recommend to family, friends, and anyone looking to have a peaceful, fun and perfect getaway! Thank you!!

Awesome stay in Hawaii !!!

  • 5 of 5

This condo rental is great !! It has everything you need . It is very ,very clean and decorated nicely!! The condo is fully furnished and has lots of extra bed linens and towels. The beds are really comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with like pots, pans , crock pot, rice cooker, dishes, coffee pot, and lots of cooking utensils . Everything else you would need was also there like dish soap, paper towels , toilet paper, cleaning supplies and a assortment of cooking spices in the kitchen. The property is kept up inside and out. It is in a gated community and the staff are all very friendly. The pool was awesome!!! It was nice to have a laundry room on the property. The peacocks that roam the property are beautiful! The owner Jennie is so nice and extremely knowledgeable of the island and lots of helpful tips of places to go to and things to do. Jennie has everything covered . It was like being at home except we were in Hawaii !! Jennie thank you so much , we loved talking with you !! We had awesome time in Hawaii !!! The Williams Family.

The place is nice and clean. It's a home away from home. The owner is kind and very accommodating.

The place is a bonus to our overall great experience in Hawaii. The place is nice and clean. The view of the mountains is relaxing plus the peacocks in the yard greeted us in the morning. The blooming plumeria added ambiance to the surrounding. It's quiet and secured. The owner checks up on us often to ensure we are comfortable and to let her know if we needed anything. She recommended places and activities to enjoy while in Hawaii. The owner is so kind to provide us breakfast stuff since we got to the place so late the first night. The place is complete with all the amenities needed to stay in a nice, comfortable condo. I highly recommend the Makaha Valley Plantation to those who want to experience Oahu, Hawaii.

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property in a great location. Beautiful beaches close by and a nice golf course minutes away. The condo was very clean and well stocked. We even had supplies for breakfast waiting for us as our flight came in late. Perfect sized property for two adult couples. The dolphin excursion recommended by Jenny was once in a lifetime! We enjoyed a couple dinners at MonkeyPod about 25 minutes away and would recommend that restaurant if staying on the west side of the island. We may have to come back!
