About this property
6-bedroom cabin-lake access .5 mile-hot tub-sauna-6' spiral slide-Modern Comfort
Gather, linger, exhale.
This 5,000 sq ft cabin is made for togetherness, with room to breathe and space to play. Just half a mile from the lake (a quick 2-minute drive or a pleasant 10-minute walk), you’ll find first-come, first-serve boat slips, two boat ramps, and a shoreside green space that feels like an invitation rather than an amenity.
Inside, the vaulted, open-concept great room sets the tone—warm, welcoming, and effortlessly grand. The dining area comfortably seats 26, because no one should be sent to the couch with a plate. The chef’s kitchen, outfitted with 48" range with oversized outdoor view and double ovens, two refrigerators, and dual dishwashers, practically insists on long pancake mornings and unhurried dinners.
The cabin sleeps well over 15 guests with ease: two king suites, four queen suites (five bedrooms with en suites), 8 twin bunk room, game room with 4 sleeping pads(no pillows sheets or blankets) and a thoughtfully designed ADA-accessible suite with no steps required.
Comfort is covered year-round with heat and A/C, high-speed Wi-Fi, and smart TVs in every bedroom. Outside, several decks invite you to grill, gather, or simply watch the light change. For fun and unwinding, there’s a 16-foot slide, a sauna for five, a hot tub for five, and a ping-pong table waiting for friendly competition.
Add keyless entry, a washer-dryer duo plus a master laundry, and you have a cabin that’s equal parts elevated and easy—designed for memories, not fuss.
Winter here feels quietly exceptional. For those who prefer their winter a bit faster, Island Park is one of the premier snowmobiling destinations in the country, with hundreds of miles of groomed trails accessible nearby, offering everything from peaceful forest rides to wide-open alpine terrain.
Closer to home, the magic shifts to Nordic skiing. Miles of beautifully groomed, world-class trails at Harriman State Park and the renowned Rendezvous Ski Trails near West Yellowstone are just 30–60 minutes away—the kind of skiing that feels serene, cinematic, and wonderfully uncrowded.
Two of the West’s most celebrated ski destinations, Grand Targhee Resort and Big Sky Resort, are each an easy one and a half hour drive, making day trips feel entirely reasonable rather than ambitious.
Summer here unfolds gently, then surprises you. Minutes from the cabin, the lake invites boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, and unhurried shoreline picnics. World-class fly fishing draws anglers to Henry’s Lake and the legendary Henrys Fork of the Snake River, long celebrated for its pristine waters and trout.
For a bit more adventure, nearby rivers offer scenic river rafting and float trips—perfect for families, first-timers, or anyone who prefers their thrill served with mountain views rather than chaos. Miles of forested trails invite hiking, biking, and wildlife watching, while Island Park Reservoir offers wide-open water and big-sky afternoons.
And when the mood strikes for something iconic, Yellowstone National Park is an easy day trip away (35 miles)—home to geysers, waterfalls, wildlife, and landscapes that never quite feel real.
It’s a summer shaped by water, fresh air, and days that feel full without ever being rushed.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle
I’m originally from St. Louis, though I’ve been lucky enough to spend time in a few places I love—this cabin in Island Park, and a beach home in Florida as well. I’m an artist by nature, which means I care deeply about light, texture, and how a space feels when you walk into it.
More than anything, I love creating homes where families can slow down, gather easily, and make the kind of memories that stay with you long after the bags are unpacked. My hope is that this cabin feels welcoming, comfortable, and quietly special ...like a place you’ll want to return to.

Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it has a way of immediately slowing you down...in the best possible way. At the RIX Cabin, the days open up wide: tall pines, soft light, mountain air, and the kind of quiet that lets conversations linger a little longer. The lake is close, the trails are inviting, and adventure feels natural rather than planned.
My husband's and my own family grew up spending summers in this part of the country...wandering, exploring, and piling into days that ended with tired legs and full hearts. Those memories stayed with us. When we found this spot, it felt familiar in that comforting, unmistakable way.
This cabin is our invitation to you to do the same. To explore together, to reconnect without rushing, and to make the kind of memories that don’t announce themselves at the time....but somehow last a lifetime.

Think of it less as shopping and more as taking a little piece of this feeling home with you. I’m an interior designer, so the way a space feels matters deeply to me. the light, the flow, the quiet moments where a room just works. Every choice here was made with that in mind: warm materials, comfortable gathering spaces, and rooms that invite you to settle in rather than rush through.
But we also believe joy belongs in a home. That’s where the slide comes in, along with the hot tub, sauna, and the kind of amenities that turn an ordinary stay into something memorable. There’s space to gather loudly and space to retreat when you need a moment to yourself.
Our goal was simple: to create a home that feels both thoughtful and fun, elevated yet entirely livable. A place where everyone...kids, adults, and everyone in between can feel at ease and fully enjoy being together.
