Hello and a warm welcome to the Thomanhof! Our certified organic farm is located in the idyllic village of Steinbrünning in the Rupertiwinkel region. For us, organic isn’t just a certification—it’s a way of life. That’s why our two brand-new vacation apartments feature plenty of sustainable materials, wood, and natural textiles. We offer an apartment for two people and a spacious vacation apartment for up to six people on the upper floor of the renovated former “Troadstadl” (completed in April 2020). We’ve been running our dairy farm with about 35 cows for several generations. If you’d like to know where your milk comes from or want to get up close with the cows, you’re welcome to visit us during milking time and help us care for the calves. Of course, we also have animals you can pet. Rabbits, cats, and guinea pigs. If you’d like, you can join us in collecting your breakfast eggs from the chickens. The popular tourist destinations of the Berchtesgadener Land region and the Mozart city of Salzburg are about a 20-minute drive away. We look forward to seeing you! The Niederstrasser Family
Our vacation rental can accommodate up to five people. With a view of the Berchtesgaden and Salzburg Alps, you can enjoy a beautiful, relaxing day in the countryside and nature every morning. The 53 m² apartment features two separate bedrooms—one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed. A bathroom with a shower and toilet, along with a kitchen-living room equipped with a pull-out sofa, ensure your comfort during your stay. A beautiful panoramic view awaits you from the balcony. We’re happy to provide a crib or high chair upon request. You’re also welcome to use the garden, including the seating area and the grill.
The Thomanhof is located on the outskirts of the Rupertiwinkel region in Steinbrünning. To get there by car from Laufen, head toward Saaldorf via Abtsdorfer Straße. You’ll pass through the village of Oberheining and then continue straight ahead along Lake Abtsdorf. After about 4 km, turn left toward Steinbrünning and continue on the road that runs through the village. After about 500 m, you’ll find our farm on the left. Coming from Freilassing, drive along Wasserburger Straße past the swimming pool. After about 1 km, turn right toward Saaldorf (Seestraße). Stay on the road and drive through Saaldorf. Steinbrünning is on the right after about 2 km. Turn right onto the road that runs through the village. After about 500 meters, you’ll find our farm on the left. Travel from the Freilassing train station: We’d be happy to pick you up from the station by arrangement. Directions to our farm from Salzburg W. A. Mozart Airport. The distance from Salzburg W. A. Mozart Airport to the Thomanhof is about 12 km. The best option is to take a taxi, which costs about EUR 30.00.
