About Jeffrey Gustafson

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago I have always longed to have a lake house retreat. Our family dream has finally come through in 2013. Our Eagle Lake home is a great place for our family to bond together. There are so many activities that we do as a family in SW Michigan, apple, grape, and blueberry picking, as well as swimming, water skiing, and fishing. My wife Claudia loves all of the local winery's and variety of eateries. The kids are always the first ones on the beach in the morning and usually the last ones to leave in the evening.

Why Jeffrey Gustafson chose Texas charter Township

This property being on the clean, low traffic Eagle Lake has made our family very comfortable from a safety standpoint. The close proximity to Chicago allows us to and from the house with ease. The homes layout is ideal for entertaining large numbers of house guests yet extremely cozy when my wife and I are there with the kids.

What makes this house unique

Picture yourself and the family just hanging out by the beach with the stunning lake view creating the memories of your life is priceless.

Perfect spot for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a long weekend at this property with my parents, siblings, and all our kids (6 total ages 4-11). It was the perfect location, close enough to Kalamazoo for dinners out and city conveniences, but tucked away on a quiet, clean lake. The beach and back yard were wonderful with lots of outdoor seating and the raft/slide was a hit. The kids loved the beach and the soft sand of the lake.

The house had everything we needed. It was nice to have paper products provided. The kitchen was well appointed to cook for 12 people. We loved the open concept with the kitchen, dining room, and family room. Laundry was a huge plus! For our family, the sleeping space was a bit tight with three kids sleeping in the daybed area that lead to the master, but it is completely fair to say it sleeps 13. (We didn't use the pull out couch in the family room.)

Highly recommend this rental to others! Jeff was great to work with - very responsive and wanted to ensure everything went smoothly. Thank you!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the positive feedback. I may have failed to mention that there is an additional matress under the day bed that can be pulled out for additional sleeping space. Have a good rest of your year and look forward to possible having you next year! Jeff Gustafson

Lovely location and a great place for a family reunion.

  • 4 of 5

Neighbors to the right were loud and intrusive, especially a gang of boys left unsupervised when the parents were partying on the lake. We had to tell them multiple times to get away from our bonfire and coolers after dark. We are sorry if we added to the bad relationship there seems to be, and we do take responsibility for not following the "off limit" rules. Our two younger grandchildren stopped playing on the water tramp as soon as told. The intrusion by the older boys continued throughout the weekend. Some clearer rules would help, as well as a sign on the water tramp itself so no communication breakdowns occur.

Owner's Response: Audrey Thank you for your review. Sorry that the relationship was strained with the neighbor. Sounds like the relationship started out on the wrong foot. We enjoyed having you and look forward to seeing you again! All the best! Jeff Gustafson

It was as stated on VRBO so no negative surprises when we got there. Very nice property.

We really enjoyed our week at Eagle Lake at this property. There were 10 adults & 2 toddlers with room for all of us. Very kid-friendly home & beach. We did rent a pontoon boat & were really glad we did so as the lake has a great sandbar where we spent a lot of time. We would definitely go back!

Wonderful Relaxing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Jeff was an excellent person to deal with. Very professional and his property exceeded our expectations. As parents of small children, we were very happy to find toys for them to play with, including toy car for my 3 year old zoom around on and a pop up tent to make a fort in the living room. Outside, we had snow ball fights and really enjoyed exploring the property which was peaceful and lovely.

Looking forward to future visits.
