About the property

FULLY Remodeled, Luxury Chalet - 3BR, 2BA - In The Heart Of Everything

Welcome to Chalet Alpine in the famed Hound Ears Club, Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Centrally located among the communities of Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis, and minutes from the Blueridge Parkway, European-style Chalet Alpine is tucked away in one of the most sought-after gated communities in the High Country.

Chalet Alpine is an inviting and secure place to visit where you can relax, renew and refresh. It allows you to drink in four distinct seasons: a rejuvenating spring, a coveted cool summer climate, dazzling fall colors and a blanket of white in the winter.

Fully remodeled, Chalet Alpine offers you European alpine cabin design: new flooring on main level installed in October 2017, custom carpentry, natural stone, cozy fireplace and expansive deck.

From the landmark massive chimney and steep wood-shingled roof to the interior rustic furniture from a local artisan, Chalet Alpine is professionally designed and tastefully decorated with charm in mountain cabin style.

Brand-new, fully-stocked kitchen, complete with new cabinets, high-grade granite tops and stainless steel appliances; two brand-new bathrooms, Kohler bathtub and frameless glass shower, spacious great room with exposed beam ceilings and gas fireplace; three bedrooms with plush king bed in master, two queens in the second and a full in the third. A "bird's nest" has proven to be children's favorite.

Free WiFi, Netflix and unlimited local and long-distance calling, top-of-the-line HD TVs and washer and dryer, and a gas grill are included.

The area surrounding Hound Ears Club is known for the 'Two R's' - relaxation and recreation. Once rested, you may be ready to explore the great outdoors by hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, tubing, or skiing, whether the Blueridge Parkway, Bass Lake, Trout Lake, Julian Price National Park, Tweetsie Railroad or Grandfather Mountain.

Why Arion & Wendy Skenderi chose Boone

Walking the streets around our property and gazing at the beauty of the surrounding landscape with truly massive boulders and alpine architecture throughout reminded us of when we lived in Central Europe. We felt transplanted into a Swiss or Bavarian village and so will you.

A magical, fairy tale trip

  • 5 of 5

The Chalet Alpine is a little fairy tale treasure nestled in the winding hillsides of the gorgeous Hounds Ear Club. The stone staircase and the a-frame structure up on the hill are exactly the kind of relaxing retreat that we were hoping to find. Everything inside and out is exactly as promised in the description and picture. We were welcomed by a warm and cozy great room perfect for sleepy nights by the fireside, tables for games and delicious dinners prepared in the gourmet kitchen, and so many wonderful blankets to keep you toasty! The kitchen was perfectly stocked and beautiful. Just the right amount of modern. The bedrooms are large, cozy and the decor in the cabin is wonderful. The little loft in he third bedroom was so fun!! We felt very welcome and we had everything we could possible need. We’ve stayed in this area every year, but this has been the perfect location. Centralized to everything fun you could possibly think of...skiing, adventuring, Caverns, waterfalls, farms, scenic girlies, shopping and so many fun places to eat! Arion and Wendy are so sweet and amazing! They are quick to respond, very helpful and so welcoming. They provided instructions for everything and we never felt confused or worried, but we knew we were welcome to email if we had questions. Thank you so much for a memorable and spectacular trip. We couldn’t have asked for a more authentic chalet mountain experience!

Sweet A-frame house in a pretty setting

  • 4 of 5

We really liked this house. It’s nicely decorated and updated. The rooms are comfortable. It’s just a really nice space to be in. If you arrive in winter, be warned that the house will be quite chilly, but will warm up fairly quickly when you turn on the heaters in each room. Steps in the house are very steep. Steps outside and parking area were very icy, but owners worked to fix the problem.

Owner's Response: Dear Jenny - Thank you very much for the favorable review. We are thrilled you liked our place and the area. Regrettably when you arrived we had experienced severe cold weather with extreme temperatures in the twenties.
