Welcome to Chalet Alpine in the famed Hound Ears Club, Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Centrally located among the communities of Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis, and minutes from the Blueridge Parkway, Chalet Alpine is tucked away in one of the most sought-after gated communities in the High Country.

Chalet Alpine is an inviting and secure place to visit where you can relax, renew and refresh. It allows you to drink in four distinct seasons: a rejuvenating spring, a coveted cool summer climate, dazzling fall colors and a blanket of white in the winter.

Fully remodeled in November 2013, Chalet Alpine offers you European alpine cabin design: custom carpentry, hardwoods, natural stone, cozy fireplace and expansive deck.

From the landmark massive chimney and steep wood-shingled roof to the interior rustic furniture from a local artisan, Chalet Alpine is professionally designed and tastefully decorated with charm in mountain cabin style.

Brand-new, fully-stocked kitchen, complete with new cabinets, high-grade granite tops and stainless steel appliances; two brand-new bathrooms, Kohler bathtub and frameless glass shower, spacious great room with exposed beam ceilings and gas fireplace; three bedrooms with plush king bed in master, two queens in the second and a full in the third. A "bird's nest" has proven to be children's favorite.

Free WiFi, Netflix and unlimited local and long-distance calling, top-of-the-line HD TVs and washer and dryer, and a gas grill are included.

The area surrounding Hound Ears Club is known for the 'Two R's' - relaxation and recreation. Once rested, you may be ready to explore the great outdoors by hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, tubing, or skiing, whether the Blueridge Parkway, Bass Lake, Trout Lake, Julian Price National Park, Tweetsie Railroad or Grandfather Mountain.

Arion & Wendy Skenderi purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Arion & Wendy Skenderi chose Blue Ridge Mountains

Walking the streets around our property and gazing at the beauty of the surrounding landscape with truly massive boulders and alpine architecture throughout reminded us of when we lived in Central Europe. We felt transplanted into a Swiss or Bavarian village and so will you.

Awesome Alpine A-Frame!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend in the mountains! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed the gas grill and deck as well.

We had 3 teenage boys playing in a baseball tournament but in their down time they enjoyed fishing nearby.

Owners were very quick in their responses to us with regards to booking and questions about check-in and key pick up.

Thank you for sharing your awesome home!

A cozy mountain retreat

The chalet was charming, nicely furnished with a fabulous deck. Loved Hound Ears, loved the proximity to Blowing Rock and Banner Elk along with the convenience of Boone. Owners were lovely to deal with. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Property is very well maintained and clean. Hound's Ear setting is beautiful. The owners have obviously worked hard on updating the unit to make it very livable and appealing. They are also extremely responsive and committed to making your stay a great one.

Convenient Location, Private

  • 4 of 5

The location at the Hound Ears Club was perfect for our needs. Easy to hop on the parkway or to go into Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk etc. The beds were extremely comfortable and the property had all the things we needed. Only negative was how dark the house was, not a big deal but had we been hit with bad weather I would not have loved being inside all day. The large deck was nice and we greatly enjoyed having a glass of wine there after a full day of hiking. Not sure if it is really possible to park two vehicles in the space provided, we drove a standard size SUV and felt that we took up the entire space. Two compact cars could definitely fit but outside of that, you'd need to park down at the fitness center which is a little bit of an uphill walk, especially if you needed to carry luggage from there. The staff at the guard gate were lovely and it was very easy to come and go from the property. Overall, a very nice stay for a hiking weekend.

Chalet Alpine is a great place to get away and enjoy the mountain air!

  • 4 of 5

We spent four nice cool days at Chalet Alpine in July! The home is charming and very well appointed with upscale appliances and unique and well made furniture and accessories. We enjoyed spending time out on the deck and the Hounds Ear Community is beautiful and well maintained. It was nice to have the master bedroom on the first floor. The cabin was very convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock for restaurants and shopping. The only reason we did not give it five stars was because, although cozy, it is rather dark inside simply due to the chalet style roof construction. Overall it provided a comfortable and enjoyable mountain get away experience and the owners were very responsive and helpful!
