About this property

Serene Canal Retreat in Kitty Hawk - Beach Access and Wildlife!

Welcome to our fully renovated soundside retreat in the quiet Kitty Hawk Landing neighborhood. Nestled along a scenic canal that feeds into the Kitty Hawk sound, this home offers a rare combination of peaceful waterfront living and easy beach access.

Spend your mornings on the covered porch or spacious back deck watching otters glide through the canal, osprey nest across the water, deer roam the yard, and hummingbirds flit through the trees. Fish off the private dock for trout and flounder, launch your kayak or boat at the neighborhood ramp, and store your trailer in our extra-long driveway for your entire stay.

When the beach calls, your included private parking pass gives you hassle-free access to the Kitty Hawk Landing beach lot on Route 12, complete with showers and bathrooms.

Inside, the home sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms — two queens, a bunk bed, and a trundle bed — with 3 full bathrooms. Head downstairs to the game room for air hockey, board games, a second TV, a mini fridge and a microwave. The beautifully renovated, fully stocked kitchen and open living and dining area make evenings in just as enjoyable as days out.

Quiet, serene, and full of life — this is OBX the way it's meant to be experienced.

About the host

We've been falling in love with the Outer Banks for years — the salt air, the laid-back pace, and the way every day feels like a small adventure. When we're not hosting, you'll find us fishing the sound, watching osprey dive from the back deck, or exploring the incredible restaurant scene that stretches from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head. We bought this property because it captured everything we love about OBX — waterfront tranquility, abundant wildlife, and just enough proximity to the beach road buzz when you want it. We take real pride in this home and love knowing our guests are out there making the same memories we do. Welcome to our little slice of the Outer Banks.

Why they chose this property

Kitty Hawk Landing is one of those rare neighborhoods that feels like a secret — quiet, unhurried, and completely removed from the traffic and noise of the beach road, yet only minutes away from everything OBX has to offer. What drew us in was the canal. Backing up to the water of the Kitty Hawk sound means you get stunning wildlife, gorgeous light at golden hour, and a level of peace that's hard to find anywhere else on the Outer Banks. The neighborhood itself is friendly and well-kept, with a private beach access lot on Route 12 that makes sand and surf completely effortless. It's the best of both worlds — and once guests experience it, they keep coming back.

What makes this property unique

Most OBX rentals put you steps from the beach — ours puts you in the middle of a living, breathing ecosystem. The canal behind the house is teeming with life: resident otters that cruise past the dock, jumping fish at dusk, deer grazing at the water's edge, and some of the best bird watching you'll find anywhere on the Outer Banks. We've spotted osprey nesting directly across the canal, hummingbirds at the porch, yellow-rumped warblers, and a rotating cast of coastal seabirds throughout the season. Add a private dock for fishing and boating, a game room downstairs, a beautifully renovated interior, and a private beach parking pass — and you have a property that genuinely offers something for everyone. Whether you're here to unplug completely or use the house as a basecamp for OBX adventures, this home delivers in a way most rentals simply can't.
