We had a great stay - we only wish we could have stayed longer! The house is beautiful and well maintained, and the location on the water was ideal. As with any vacation rental, we had to make a quick run for some basic items, but the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Would definitely stay again!
Visited end of June. Bugs were not bad. Community unpopulated b/c early in the vacation season. House itself exceeded expectations. Specific notes below- Pros: Spacious and clean. Open living area and screen porch great. The master bathroom is great-- incl. heated tile floor. All beds comfortable.Location is well situated to take advantage of various community amenities. House is on the lake and they provided 2 kayaks and enough life preservers. The air hockey table and Pacman video game work. The next door neighbors were nice folks. The community pools were a comfortable temperature and salt water. Cons: I was almost over charged 150 for the community fees. The propane grill is nice, but two of the burners do not work. The cutting knives are dull, so bring your own for cutting meats and bread/bagels. TV remotes were placed in the wrong rooms, so we had to work out which one went in which room. The lake water is murky, which deterred us (and those we observed) from swimming. The lake seems more a place for using kayaks, paddle boards and canoes. We had a mixed experience with the swimming pool staff. Some were great, but some seemed bored and overly ready to apply the draconian rules that are common to most public pools. I had one instance when I was with two of my children at the lap swimming pool (Choctaw) and the lifeguard yells from the other end of the pool, 'Don't hang on the handles of the swimming blocks!... Just don't touch those!' Community game room is small.
This house exceeded expectations! It is very pretty, extremely clean, very well equipped, with lots of room for everyone. There were 6 of us and we never felt crowded. The kitchen had every appliance, cookware and utensil we could possibly need, and the grill is amazing, unlike many other rentals we've had. The location and the view are perfect. We will definitely come back!
A wonderful weekend getaway. We loved the house , lake and the great outdoors there. Didn’t appreciate finding bath towels and other towels and rags inside cloth dryer though. There were no instructions given on operating the two fire places and a couple of the ceiling fans were inoperable. Other than that we had a very nice stay.

"We’re so glad this guest enjoyed the home, the lake, and the peaceful outdoor setting. After sharing the rest of the feedback with the homeowner, they would like to note the following:- Towels and linens are meant to be fully prepared before check-in, and I’ve reminded my cleaners to double-check the dryer moving forward.- Written instructions for the fireplaces are being added so future guests can use them with ease.- The ceiling fans mentioned are being reviewed and serviced as needed.I do all I can to provide the best possible stay, and I look forward to welcoming future guests for more relaxing getaways."

There was a dispute about the payment between Evolve and VRBO. the door lock did not work to get in (dead batteries), the home was at 55 degrees, fireplaces did not light, Driveway barely plowed, limited toilet paper, t-stat set back to 55 at night, Ice in freezer was really old and just a block of ice, could not stream to the TVs. Very disappointed. And to top it off the lid on the mater bedroom toilet would not stay up

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following:- We regret the initial difficulty accessing the home. A lockbox is available as a backup to the electronic lock, and this has been noted to help prevent similar issues in the future.- The home’s thermostat is automated to adjust based on occupancy. We understand your concerns regarding temperature and are reviewing how we can better ensure the home is comfortable upon arrival.- Snow removal was completed during your stay; however, we recognize winter conditions in the area can be challenging, and appreciate the feedback regarding the driveway.- We apologize for the concerns noted with starter supplies and general readiness. This feedback has been shared with the cleaning and management teams to reinforce expectations moving forward.Thank you again for your feedback. Guest insights like yours help us identify opportunities to improve and enhance the experience for future stays.

It was a beautiful house, amazing location, excellent amenities, easy check in and check out process! There were a few things that could have been better, like... not having to put sheets and pillowcases on our selves, the lawn needs to be cut (we had to play cornhole in the driveway because grass was overgrown), and better communication with the property manager from their webite and email (I sent registration by email to the manager's email address provided, directly on the property management website, and by text. Unfortunately text was the only way i got a hold of someone) All and all it was a wonderful family vacation spot, i would book it again in a heartbeat!

Clean House, Pretty Dock… But the Rest Was a Comedy of ErrorsThe house itself was very clean and beautiful, and the dock was amazing — peaceful, scenic, everything you’d hope for. Unfortunately, the experience with Evolve and the property manager was far less relaxing.First, we were nearly overcharged a 30 “extra” transaction fee until I pointed out it should’ve been 20. Then came the check-in scavenger hunt — the instructions sent us to an offsite location that didn’t exist. After calling, I learned there was a different email with updated instructions. When we finally got in, the house was a brisk 53 degrees. The fireplaces (inside, sunroom, and outdoor fire pit) didn’t work, and despite two emails and a voicemail, we didn't get an answer until the 3rd day. When the manager finally called back, she sounded annoyed and couldn’t offer solutions — apparently, the fire pit was unplugged because a previous guest left it on.Other oddities: no welcome kit (despite being mentioned), confusing instructions (like a sign telling us to “turn off the breakers before leaving” — wait, what?), and no on-site guide for how things actually worked. All in all, the property itself was nice — clean, peaceful, and well-situated — but the management experience made it feel like we were on an escape room challenge we didn’t sign up for.Would I rent again? Sadly, no. With better communication, clear instructions, and just a little more hospitality, this could’ve been a five-star stay.

We're glad you enjoyed the home's cleanliness, peaceful setting, and beautiful dock, though we're sorry about the issues you encountered. After connecting with the homeowner and reviewing your comments, we wanted to clarify the following:– From our team at Evolve, we checked our communication records and didn’t hear from you during your stay. We truly wish you had reached out, as we would've been glad to assist in real time. All rates and fees are accurately outlined before booking, and we confirmed that two pre-stay emails were sent with the correct property address.– The home has central heat with a Nest thermostat in a visible location. The living room fireplace runs on a wall thermostat, and the sunroom fireplace won’t turn on if the set temperature is below the room’s current temperature. The outdoor fire pit was removed from guest access due to past misuse and will be taken off the listing.– We agree that a welcome guide would've been helpful and are updating the instructions to make the home easier to navigate for future guests. Thanks for choosing to stay with us.
Great Pocono Retreat, Very clean and accommodating to a group/family of 7 for a full week stay. Host has great communication and location to the beach & lake is within walking distance. 5-star deserved review. Thanks.
