Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

This was a VERY comfortable home; absolutely perfect for our family vacation with mother-in-law, and our two teen-age daughters. Everyone had their own space, but lots of together time on the beach and porches. The kitchen was amazingly well-stocked - with very intentional thought as to what to stock with. We've stayed at places where they were well stocked with other people's left-overs. This home was different. It had plenty of pots/pans, utensils, plates, etc. It even had a blender and Kuregs. We did a lot of our own cooking, but Skinner's restaurant and the Lightside Bakery were big hits. The home was very clean, with very comfortable beds and furniture. The downstairs bed and bath was perfect for mom, while there was lots of room upstairs for everyone else. TVs and DVD players in every room was a plus, as were ceiling fans. There were even beach toys in the closet, and plenty of Adirondack chairs and lounge chairs for the porches. The pictures in the photo gallery are very accurate. While the home is set back from the beach, there are no other homes in front, so the beach view is unobstructed. There was an outdoor hose and outdoor shower under the deck for easy rinsing of beach sand. We would highly recommend this location (just make sure to leave a week or two for us, 'cause we want to go back!).

Beautiful home on the gulf!

  • 5 of 5

This was the most relaxing place I have ever stayed! Beautiful weather and scenery with the gulf at the front and Mississippi Sound at our back. Beautiful beach. House was new and comfortable. Plenty of room for 10. Most well stocked kitchen I have ever had on a vacation. We enjoyed watching Dolphins, visiting local places and enjoying the ones we love.

We arrived on Saturday, September 6, 2014 for our long awaited Family Vacation. Upon arrival, we were bombarded with a couple of "negative" moments (i.e. flat tire, one of the kids hurt their foot playing soccer on beach). As we were unloading our vehicle to go get the tire fixed, we walked into the house and WOW! all the "negatives" just vanished away. We loved the house at first sight. It was the most perfect place, right there on the beach, away from all the commotion of tourists, and an amazing view of the Gulf.

We had our 5 daughters with us, and of course, the 3 bathrooms came in very We were all able to sleep upstairs comfortably. The beds were very comfortable. The accommodations were great! There was plenty of cookware (posts/pans/dishes) and the appliances were great.

If we could critique one thing, that would be the ice maker - it is VERY slow in making ice, so make sure you stop and pick up some ice before you arrive.

We cooked our own meals, rested, relaxed, played, walked, watched the dolphins play right there at the shore, built sandcastles, and sand sculptures, and watched amazing lightning as the storms were off in the distance. The weather was perfect - storms all around us - but the beach was sunshine all the time.

We are already planning our next year's stay - and the family wants this same house!

Come and enjoy a little piece of paradise, putting your toes in the sugar white sand on the Gulf of Mexico.

Come stroll the beaches, charter a boat to fish or to curise. Also, before crossing the causeway is Cedar Point Fishing Pier, no license required and fishing gear is available for rental. Play around of golf on the gulf front golf course, dine in special eateries and visit gift shops and boutiques for that special item or gifts.

This true 'barrier' Island is accessed from the mainland by a beautiful drive, consisting of a two and one-half mile causeway and a three mile bridge.

The South side of the island faces the Gulf of Mexico Surf, and the North side faces the Mississippi Sound with calm and shallow waters. Both sides experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets throughout the year.

The Island offers Kayak, Bicycle rentals and tours of the Island also offer daily and weekly chaise loungers, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, inflatables and scooters for rentals. You do not need to load the car down, the Island has all your rental needs.

Many Bountiful Public Parks with fishing piers, Indian Shell Mound, boat launches, picnic tables, dock for fishing, Golf, Skate Board , Historic Fort Gains and a Bird Sanctuary to name a few of what the parks offer on the Island. Also a must see is the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and the Estuarium.
