The house is warm and cozy and has everything we need to make our Thanksgiving dinner. Kitchen is extremely well equipped. The owner is wonderful to work with. We love the house and the town. Lovely shops and restaurants.

Excellent House with every detail thought of

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our wedding home base and everyone loved it. The fire pit was outstanding and greatly enjoyed along with the hot tub. There was even a Bluetooth speaker to use while we were here. The lower level was marvelously done Including the laundry room! It’s a perfect house to hang out with a large group. We highly recommend Heartland House.

Beautiful Saugatuck Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Heartland House is a beautiful, clean, well cared for property in Saugatuck. Heartland House is perfect for along weekend or a week stay. It provides space for everyone. From the fire pit, to the hot tub, front porch to the back deck, the outside gives the opportunity to relax and enjoy the grounds. Inside is clean and well cared for. Heartland House is spacious and roomie, and provides a place for relaxation by the fireplace, or family games in the family room. Our family has enjoyed out stays at Heartland House and can't wait to return.

Rustic-stylish comfort for a group

  • 5 of 5

Our family reunion at Heartland House included 12 adults and 3 young children over four days. (The house sleeps 14 but we brought a Pack N Play for our smallest.) Although the late-October weather was rainy, we were totally comfortable hanging out in this spacious house except for brief outings. Kitchen is small but well-equipped, dining table held us all. The fireplace and deck hot tub were great in the 40-50-degree weather. Family members who came from a distance said Saugatuck and Heartland House were worth a return visit. Note: the upstairs has 5 bedrooms but only one bath so plan on sharing the main floor and basement bathrooms. This was not a problem for our family.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words! Stay tuned for a new kitchen in Spring, 2018. Additional counter space, a bigger dishwasher and more efficient storage will make a huge difference! While we do that work we will be putting the plumbing in for an additional bathroom on the 2nd floor. Aiming for 2020 on that. Again, thanks for being such a great group and for the thumbs up! -Gary

Owner's Response: Thanks, Roblee! Always a pleasure to have your family stay at the house. Stay tuned for the new kitchen in Spring, 2018! Additional countertop space, larger dishwasher and more efficient cabinet storage should make a big difference from the original 1950s room we have now! All best to you and thanks again for the thumbs up! -Gary
