The Vine is a bus rapid transit network — similar to a light rail style of service but using buses — that runs along high-demand routes with features like larger articulated buses, enhanced stations with raised platforms, pre-boarding fare payment machines, real-time arrival displays, and frequent service.
Current Lines
There are two active lines in East Vancouver:
The Vine on Fourth Plain (Green Line) • Travels along Fourth Plain Boulevard from downtown Vancouver to Vancouver Mall. • About 6–7 miles long with ~34 stops. • Buses every 10–15 minutes throughout most of the day.
The Vine on Mill Plain (Red Line) • Runs along Mill Plain Boulevard from downtown Vancouver east to Mill Plain Transit Center near SE 184th Avenue. • Longer — about 10 miles with ~37 stations.
Service Frequency & Fares • Buses generally arrive every 10–15 minutes during much of the day. • The Vine operates long service hours (early morning into late night). • Fares are similar to local bus routes and paid before boarding at station kiosks; the Hop Fastpass smart card used in the Portland-Vancouver region is accepted.
Smoking, Vaping & Substances * No smoking or vaping of a kind inside the home. * Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas 20 feet from house. * Evidence of smoking indoors may result in an additional cleaning fee.
