About the host
Hosted by Beth Kloos
Growing up, some of my most cherished memories were our family trips “up north.” Each summer, we would pack up and head to a cabin tucked among the trees, surrounded by lakes and quiet. Days were spent on the water—fishing, water skiing, and swimming until the sun dipped low. Evenings meant campfires, laughter, and that unmistakable stillness you only find in the Northwoods. Those experiences left a lasting impression on me and shaped what I believe a true getaway should feel like.
Now, with four children of our own, we find so much joy in creating those same kinds of memories with them. There’s something special about time on the lake—the simplicity of it, the connection it brings, and the way it slows everything down. Whether it’s early mornings watching the sun rise over the water or long summer days spent exploring, these are the moments that stay with you.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because it captures everything we loved about those childhood experiences—but elevates it. The setting is what makes it truly unique. Perched among mature pines with a stunning elevated view of Crosslake, the home offers a rare combination of privacy and panoramic lakefront beauty. The sunrise over the water is something we never take for granted—it’s one of the defining features of this property. Being part of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes is another reason we fell in love with this location. With miles of interconnected lakes, it offers endless opportunities for boating, exploring, fishing, and discovering new spots along the water. It’s one of the most special lake systems in Minnesota, and truly a destination in itself.
What makes this property unique
The Overlook at Crosslake offers a rare elevated lakefront setting, perched among mature pines with panoramic sunrise views across the water. Unlike typical lake homes at water level, this property provides a true “overlook” experience—combining privacy, quiet, and sweeping scenery while still being just minutes from the best of Crosslake. Designed for gathering, the home features spacious living areas ideal for families and groups, along with direct access to the Whitefish Chain of Lakes—one of Minnesota’s premier boating and fishing destinations. It’s a unique blend of Northwoods seclusion, elevated views, and full lake access, creating a setting that feels both peaceful and unforgettable.
