About the host
Hosted by Gregg J Hermerding

Hello! We're Connie and Gregg. We live in Minnesota with our four children and six grandchildren. Gregg is a former teacher of 37 years and now works part time at our local library. (Gregg couldn't just retire after leaving teaching, or he would have gone crazy!) Connie works for a local non-profit after she stayed home to raise our four children. Gregg likes to bake bread, long distance biking, running, working out at the health club, and making jellies and jams. Connie is crafty and makes jewelry to sell to raise money for her non-profit. She is also an avid reader of murder mysteries. We are die-hard Minnesotans and dearly love all four seasons. We are active in our local community and in our church. We love entertaining, especially introducing friends to fondue!
Why they chose this property
Gregg's parents owned this property. After they died a few years ago he decided to keep this lovely lake home in the family. After inviting many friends to spend time "up at the lake," (and seeing how much they enjoyed this home and their time there) Gregg and Connie decided they should share this lake home with others.
What makes this property unique
Gregg and Connie maintain this property as a lake home. They use it regularly throughout the year. Therefore, our renters should feel free to use the groceries and other items found in the cupboards and refrigerators. Renters also have full access to linens and paper products. Free wood is available for the fire pit down by the lakefront. Kayaks, paddleboards, lawn chairs, and "floaties" are available too. This is a family home so help yourselves!

Fishing:
Duck Lake has a lot of northern pike. Casting with a Mepps, spinners, or spoon lures works well. You also can access the south bay of Crosslake via our “secret path” through the woods. As you leave the driveway, walk straight across West Shore Drive. There is a path that will take you to Crosslake. It’s only about 100 yards long. You might be able to catch bass, sunnies, and perch. You can swim over there as well.
There is also public access to Crosslake. Take a left at the end of the driveway. The public access is about 1/8 mile down on the right. Crosslake is part of a chain of lakes that gives you access to many fishing possibilities.
