About this property
Hot Tub + Game Lounge + Fire Pit + Mountain Views | Crown Ridge Retreat
Just south of Breckenridge, where the pines close in and the pace drops off, Crown Ridge Retreat is the kind of mountain escape that makes you forget what day it is. Its A-frame silhouette rises through the trees, and soaring windows pull the forest — and the Tenmile Range beyond — right into the living room. Vaulted wood ceilings, a pitched great room, and a warm, lodge-inspired design set the tone for slow mornings and long evenings spent exactly where you want to be.
The heart of the home is a double-height living space anchored by a stone fireplace and wrapped in glass, where sunlight spills across the hardwood floors. Off the main level, a glass sunroom is made for board games, a second cup of coffee, or watching the snow fall over the peaks. The kitchen opens to a dining area that easily seats the whole crew, and a separate lounge with a dartboard and flat-screen TV gives the group a second place to spread out.
Five sleeping areas host up to ten guests across a king primary, two queen bedrooms, a twin room, and a queen sleeper sofa — room enough for families, friend groups, or a mix of both. Two full bathrooms and a half bath keep the morning shuffle painless.
Step outside and the real show begins. A wraparound deck lined with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit invites long evenings under the stars, while the private hot tub bubbles away against uninterrupted mountain views. Soak after a day on the slopes or toast marshmallows as the alpenglow fades behind the peaks — this is the Colorado you came for.
As for the setting, you're in the sweet spot. Blue River is a quiet mountain community about five miles — roughly ten minutes — south of Breckenridge, so you get the hush of the pines and the wildlife (elk and moose sightings come standard) without giving up access to one of Colorado's most beloved ski towns. Breckenridge Ski Resort, historic Main Street, and the town's galleries, shops, and restaurants are a quick drive up Highway 9. When the snow melts, the Blue River draws fly fishers to the water while Summit County's paved rec path connects Breckenridge to Frisco for easy summer riding, and Keystone and Copper Mountain round out the day trips. It's the kind of place you book for a long weekend and immediately start figuring out how to extend.

This place was a hidden gem near Breckinridge. It felt very private and secluded with amazing views of the forest, just a short drive from town. The house has a lot of windows and gorgeous natural light. We found the furnishings to be very comfortable and the place was well-stocked with games and amenities for a cozy, relaxing weekend. We loved the hot tub and porch!

Forest views through all those windows, with natural light pouring in, no wonder the weekend felt so cozy! We love that the hot tub, porch, and stash of games made it easy to settle in and relax. Hidden gem status confirmed. Thanks for finding us, and come back to the mountains anytime!
The host was incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and so accommodating. The house was lovely and set up in a way that made it feel like a cozy home, with everything from condiments and coffee to snacks, plates, glasses, and cookware. You name it, they had it all! There were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. The place was tucked away at the end of a drive, so it was nice and secluded from everything. It was close to town but not too close. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely recommend it.

Snacks, condiments, and cozy corners waiting on arrival make a home feel truly lived in! We're delighted the secluded setting hit that close but not too close sweet spot, and that our team could help along the way. Thank you for the recommendation, and we'd love your return!

There were a number of small things and then one big thing. The big thing - There were bears in the area, which is expected in the mountains. One night they came by and went through the recycling. But then last night they came back and ripped open all of the garbage and the wooden shed it was housed in. Its pretty clear they are coming by regularly for the garbage. I would expect that the garbage would be completely bear safe. That it's not, makes it a really unsafe situation. Also, from inside the house, it was hard to tell when the back door was locked, but there is a sign by the door that says bears can open the door. All together, I'm not sure how bear safe the house was. Small things - The rug in the living room was causing trips and slips. We had to pull it up and it was really dirty. It looked like there was some kind of animal excrement in the hot tub, it might have otherwise been clean, but we weren't going to risk it. The door code stopped working 2nd day into our visit. The fire alarm in the kitchen went off when we'd make toast or fry an egg. On the plus side, the bedding was nice and sitting on the porch was delightful.

We're glad the porch and the comfortable bedding gave you some good moments, and thank you for the thoughtful detail throughout. You're right that wildlife is part of life in the mountains, and this home carries guidance throughout for exactly that reason; your experience has prompted a review of the outdoor waste storage so it stands up to determined visitors, and that work has been escalated with the team responsible for the home. The smaller items you noted, from the rug to the door code to the hot tub, have been routed for correction as well. We appreciate you bringing all of this to our attention, and should you consider staying with us again, we'd welcome the chance to provide a smoother mountain stay.
