Waterfront home on St. George River with private beach & deck - near festivals
Offering a stunning location on the broad St. George River just before it meets the open ocean, this waterfront cottage has everything you need for a summer in Midcoast Maine. Enjoy a private beach that's perfect for kayaking, a wonderful deck, and an enviable location near Maine's most famous summer festivals.
The home's setting and exterior provide a bit of classic character, while the cottage interior is all brand new. After a day spent at the Maine Lobster Festival or the North Atlantic Blues Festival in nearby Rockland, you'll be greeted back at home by a living space lined with picture windows framing the water outside.
In the mornings, prepare breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen, sit down to eat at the circular dining table, and follow the path down to the beach to launch your kayak. The afternoons and evenings are best spent soaking up the scene from the deck or the yard, barbecuing fresh seafood on the gas grill, and watching movies on the living room or bedroom TV (with cable and streaming capability). A washer/dryer and high-speed WiFi are provided as well.

It’s clean, a great location, it’s private and away from all the crowds. We love the sunrises and the view.

Perfect place to be still
We loved everything about this cottage on the river. We loved waking up to the sunrise over the water, seeing a bald eagle right outside in the trees, staying cozy inside during a thunderstorm, and the sheer and utter peace that this place provided. I can't wait to come back!

Sweet stay
The views and the quite tranquility. Good internet. Nice beach access.
Nice getaway to Maine. This is a sweet little cabin. We enjoyed our time there. It was quiet and no one bothered us. We had a lovely view of the water.
This is an idylic paradise location! It has it all including, stunning views, beauty everywhere, solitude but with an easy drive to restaurants. The cottage has every possible consideration for guests and it exceeded our expectations. We loved our stay and would love to revisit.

Great stay - a quiet Maine retreat!
Excellent location - away from everything but all that we needed (groceries, lobster pound, small unique places to see) was close by. Amazing view! Cottage had everything we needed. Loved the layout of the cottage too with living room set up and deck facing the water. Perfect little getaway! This is on our very short list of places we will return to - it was that enjoyable. Booking, communication, information, etc. were all top notch and easy.

Fabulous spot!
The cottage is situated on the St. George river in a very private location. The cottage is comfortable, cozy, very roomy for its size, and exceptionally clean. Despite how private spot is, it’s also close to services and restaurants. I am usually a skeptic of property management services, but Vacasa was a welcomed exception!
Newly renovated and very cozy, private cottage on the water
Nice private setting right on the water. Everything is brand new and well done. Able to swim and kayak right off the private beach. As advertised and we highly recommend it - will stay there again.
Cottage even nicer than pictured and view from the spot is wonderful. You can sit on the lawn, porch or inside and see the river. Very private and quiet. We rented a kayak from MidCoast kayak that was delivered for the week and kayaked every morning and late afternoon(based on tides of course). Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Would stay again.

Comfortable, welcoming and private with amazing view!
We loved this cabin. It is on a very private lot with a great view of the waterway. It's far enough from the roads that the only thing you hear is the occasional crane or tern from the water. The interior is very clean and wonderfully furnished. Everything we needed was there from kitchenware to a laundry. The king-sized bed was wonderfully comfortable. The grounds and garden were the icing on the cake. This will be our new go-to when visiting the area.

A Special Place
This well built and nicely landscaped cottage is uniquely furnished. The site in very private, views of the tidal cove are beautiful at all hours. Everything in the interior is very new comfortable and works well. Orange-yellow-green colors dominate and are unusual to live with for a few days.

Beauty and Comfort
We adore Maine and visit frequently. This was such a gem of a place to stay. It must be brand new because there were no prior reviews so I definitely took a leap of faith booking it and I am so glad I did! It was clean, beautiful, and perfectly comfortable for 2 people. We enjoyed the fire pit, the extremely comfortable bed, and the stunning views of the rising and falling tide! Will be back again!
Great cottage, fun 60s vibe. Kitchen very well equipped and bed linens high level. View is as advertised. Spectacular. Even at low tide you see the deep river channel in the distance. Beach is wonderful for swimming during the 4 or 5 hours around high tide. Water is not too cold. There is a beautiful preserve with hiking trails just down the road. Even has a collection of large wood sculptures.Only drawback is the house is a little far from shopping and restaurants.
Very charming little cottage overlooking the St. George river. Location, location, location - far enough away to be super quiet yet close to Thomaston, Rockland, and several little fishing communities. Great deck overlooking the tidal river and when you sit inside, you get nearly the same amazing view. Spent hours on the deck each day and just inside the living room when the weather wasn't as cooperative. It is a place we will return to as you cannot beat the peacefulness and the proximity to lobster shacks, groceries, little shops, etc. is wonderful. I'd recommend checking out the Wallace's Lobster by the Friendship Co-Op, the Gnome Lady near Spruce Head Island, and McLoon's Lobster Shack on Spruce Head Island.
What a perfect little cottage. Everything is fresh, newly remodeled, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The view is sublime, on a perfect quiet cove, and one can enjoy the view from just about everywhere: the yard, dining table, deck or living area. We spent hours just enjoying our books and podcasts, with a background of crickets and seagulls, a perfect way to enjoy Maine in summer. The cottage also served is quite well, when we invited a few local family members over for a lobster dinner and fire in the fire pit. We had a hard time leaving and would definitely come back.
