Welcome to the Bavarian Allgäu!
The market town of Weiler-Simmerberg-Ellhofen is located not far from Lake Constance, Austria (Bregenz Forest), and Switzerland. You can explore the rolling hills of the Bavarian Alpine foothills on well-marked hiking trails, either on foot or by bike. Whether you’re young or a bit older, looking to be active or just relax—in one of Germany’s southernmost and most scenically diverse regions, you’re sure to find the perfect leisure activities to match your specific vision of a relaxing holiday.
In the surrounding area, you’ll find outdoor swimming pools, lakes for swimming, tennis courts, and golf courses, as well as trails for bike tours, relaxing walks, or challenging climbing routes.
In winter, well-maintained cross-country ski trails and numerous ski lifts in the immediate vicinity are at your disposal. Well-cleared winter hiking trails through the snow-covered landscape invite you to take walks during the cold season.
The cultural offerings include concerts, exhibitions, and, last but not least, the Bregenz Festival with its world-famous floating stage on Lake Constance.
Bregenz and Lindau are easily accessible by car in half an hour.
You can watch Allgäu Emmental, mountain cheese, and other cheese specialities being made at many alpine dairies along the West Allgäu Cheese Route. Each alpine dairy also sells its products on site.
