Camden is a lovely coastal town offering something for everyone. Enjoy views of MOUNT BATTIE from the front stoop or take a 30 minute moderate hike to the summit from the TRAIL HEAD at the AT THE TOP OF THE STREET. Those less adventuresome can drive to the top via the Mount Battie State Park entrance. Either way the reward is a marvelous view of the harbor, bay, and outlying islands. Bald Rock Trail in Camden Hills State Park was listed as one of the world's most scenic walks (Departures, Adam H Graham, Mar/Apr 2012)
If you would rather not cook your own lobsters in our convenient outdoor propane lobster and shellfish pot, take a walk to the wharf for a lobster feast at Bayview Lobster, Inc., a cup of delicious New England chowder at Cappy's or venture where the locals hang out at Cuzzy's and have a Maine micro-brew beer. You may also want to reserve a spot on one of the various wooden sailing schooners for a tour of Penobscot Bay or learn to kayak with Maine Sports Kayak Tours. Town events include the Camden Food and Wine Festival in June, Country Roads Artist & Artisans Tour in September and Lobster Festival in nearby Rockand In July. Camden also offers a wide variety of restaurants, gourmet food and wine purveyors and unique shops where you can find upscale clothing, local pottery/art, antiques, and more.
WONDERFULLY LOCATED IN MIDCOAST MAINE, Camden is a great stepping stone from which to discover the pleasures of the seacoast as well as an array of exciting day trips to the north and south. About Michelle Welty
My husband, Keith, grew up on the coast of Maine, therefore it was inevitable we would eventually own a house in Maine--although we live and work in Florida! We love our time in Camden and believe anyone who visits will also fall in love with the area. If you love nature, hiking, kayaking, sailing--or just enjoying the beautiful northeast climate and scenery--we urge you to spend some time in Camden and surrounding midcoast Maine! -Michelle & Keith

Comfortable, cozy, convenient, just perfect...if we lived closer than 1200 miles, we would stay again in a heartbeat! We loved our 10-day stay.
Amazing find in an charming town!
Loved this house! Went with two kids (5 yr and 2.5 yr.) The first night we were a little nervous about the steep stairs, but it ended up not being a problem at all. We walked most of the time we were there whether it was to the harbor or Mt. Battie for a little hiking. I would highly recommend this house!
Nice Home Base
Very charming home, with everything you need, and more! From Wicker Cottage it is easy to walk to everything in Camden and drive to other towns in the area. Comfortable room for relaxing in the eve, or sitting areas inside and out. A nice big dining space and fully equipped kitchen. Beds are nice, bathrooms clean and nice too. August was a little warm for sleeping, so we used the window ACs upstairs on low, but they worked well and we were happy to have them! The stairs going up to the bedrooms is steep and tight, so we took care and planned our trIps up and down, especially at night. With the full bath upstairs, that wasn't an issue. I would go back to Wicker Cottage in a heartbeat!
Great location. It was just right for us.
Close to good places to eat.
It felt like our own home - comfortable and thoughtfully equipped and decorated. Great location too!
Wicker Cottage is your home away from home. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything you need, including beach chairs, full kitchen equipment, great selection of Maine books, maps and brochures. The outdoor spaces are wonderful - small back porch as well as table with umbrella in a private area. The location is a few blocks away from the Main Street of Camden. You can walk to the misty harbor in the morning and pick up breakfast on your way back. I would not hesitate to recommend this to friends for a stay in mid-coast Maine.
