Cute Cottage minutes from Caverns and Skyline Drive

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a few days with family to visit caverns, hike, zipline, and skyline drive. Liked that is was close to town, yet town very small as not many places to eat for a nice dinner. House itself was perfect with plenty of room with 3 teenagers. Did not feel crowded as would if in a hotel. Clean (very important for me) and overall great first VRBO experience. Was unsure when booking, yet liked that it was close to a town - if you are looking for a remote, secluded cabin with lots of land and space, this is not the place for you.

Delightful!! Comfy, cozy and CLEAN!!

  • 5 of 5

This is cottage is so adorable we all said we would like to live there. It is on a quiet street close to town, Luray Caverns and to Shenandoah NP. The beds are super comfy with plenty of room for luggage, etc. The kitchen is great and seemed well stocked, although we did not cook. Living room has very comfortable seating with a nice TV which has Directv. Internet works well. Would highly recommend!!!!!! We didn't walk downtown....but you could. We ate at Gathering Grounds (good), Speakeasy (avoid) and Flotsies Ice cream (good). Shops downtown are cute as well. We met Lana and she is great - willing to do anything to help make your stay great. She even has lots of tour info, maps, etc in the house for your use.

Super-stocked home-sweet-home

  • 5 of 5

This place felt very much like a home. Everything in the house was easy to navigate. There were enough pots and pans to cook ANYTHING. After bringing our own we realized that the house also had a pack-n-play and a feeding chair. We truly enjoyed our time at home alongside the proximity to places of interest such as the Luray caverns and Shenandoah national park.

We had forgotten our toddler's bag at home but were easily able to go to nearby stores to get diapers/clothes.

Downsides are that some parts of the town look a bit run down (although NOT this house) and the Wi-Fi in the house is slow (i.e. not streaming-worthy but fine for other things). I felt comfortable contacting Lana for things although I didn't much have the need to.

Car: necessary

Luray is a little historical town between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountain Ranges in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We are home to the famous Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive and the George Washington National Forest, with spectacular mountain scenery and abundant wildlife. Canoe, Kayak, Rafting and Tubing on the Shenandoah River. Luray offers an impressive selection of recreational activities, major attractions and cultural history. Visitors are drawn to Historic Main St. where festivals, performing arts, paved walking trails, shops and eateries are accessible year round. A great place to get away from it all and enjoy our slower pace of life.
