Modern, tastefully decorated décor, makes staying in as much of a pleasure as getting out on an alpine adventure in this centrally located home. Just a few minutes drive from Ridgway, Ouray & Montrose. Golfing, 4 wheeling, jeeping, hiking, cross country skiing, world class ice climbing, mineral pool soaking and many other sights & activities abound. Telluride, with world class powder snow skiing is less than an hour away.
whether honeymooning, adventuring, or relaxing with the most spectacular view imaginable, our secluded location on the escarpment of Log Hill provides a private accommodation, yet easy driving distance to all the area has to offer.
Double car garage and a pull in spot provides plenty of parking.
A Kansas native whose heart is in Southwest Colorado. My children have grown up coming here, bringing friends and other 'flatlanders' to marvel at the wonder outside our window.
I'm so happy to share the beauty of the San Juans and the comfort of my home with all my guests. I'm sure you and you family and friends will make your own memories to cherish while staying here, as well!
Cindy Hall purchased this cabin in 1997
Well, the pictures don't even start to capture the views. This property sits atop a Mesa with direct views of the San Juan Mountain Range, Cimmarron Mountain Range, and the valley between Ridgeway and Ouray. Regardless of season, the views from your cabin will stop you in your tracks and remind you of the beauty of Southwest Colorado.
The cabin is secluded enough that you will feel like you have your own space, yet is a short 15 minute drive into town for restaraunts and all the amenities. Ridgeway, Montrose, Telluride, and Monstrose are all short drives. This makes it quite convenient.
The cabin was very clean and well kept. My husband and I stayed for a week, and we had a wonderful time!
Hall House was a perfect spot for a winter vacation! The house was very comfortable with everything we needed for the two of us and our dog. The kitchen had numerous condiments and consumables like coffee filters, olive oil, mayonnaise, mustard, etc. The views were spectacular (when it wasn't a whiteout from all the snow!), and the house felt very secluded and peaceful. Cindy was available for any questions and checked in with us during our stay regarding road/driveway conditions due to the heavy snow. She was also flexible with our checkout time, which was much appreciated as the weather had closed a few of the roads in the area. We had to change our activity plans a few times because many of the snowshoe trails we had hoped to do were impassable. However, where we were able to snowshoe and cross country ski, we had the trails all to ourselves! There is also a network of trails within the Loghill Village neighborhood, convenient for an evening stroll or walking the dog. Overall, a great experience!
We were in Ridgway the week following Christmas. The house was perfect. Only issue I had was that they were putting a new roof on when we arrived but they wrapped that work up the next day with minimal inconvenience to us. 2 adults and 2 adult children and our dog Murphy enjoyed the home. Views were breathtaking off of the back deck as the home is on an escarpment overlooking the valley in which the town of Ridgway sits. It is about a 10 minute drive down to the town but the scenery is worth that time. Well appointed kitchen (could use another frying pan) worked for us. Market in town had the essentials and Montrose is close by for the larger stores. True Grit restaurant in town was good as was the Colorado Boy Brewery. Plan to get there early or be ok waiting a bit though as during the winter there aren't many choices locally. Washer Dryer was a benefit in that we didn't have to bring as many clothes. This is well setup for a couple or a family with smaller kids as there are two twin beds in the second bedroom. Loft in the family room is where one of my adult children slept with the other taking over the second bedroom. House is private and at the end of a road with two or three others that you can't really see. Dish TV and Internet worked fine and we brought our Roku to watch some Netflix content, no issues with bandwidth. Garage was nice benefit after the roofers were gone in that we could pull right in on the cold days. Mud Room entry in the garage helped keep the snow out of the house and aided with the dog walks. Living area is all up stairs but those stairs are easy with a landing half-way up. Honestly the only negatives are for those wanted lodging with a walking distance into town, not a bad drive in, and the shades in the family room could be a little more sun blocking, minor points. Excellent heat, water pressure and well stocked with linens and paper products, condiments, etc. My wife and I will definitely return and Cindy the owner was a joy to work with.
This is our 3rd time to stay here and we definitely plan to return. The view from the back deck is probably the best one could ask of the Cimarron and San Juan mountains. The location is perfect, as it sits on the very edge of a huge ridge with unobstructed views. Everything you need is located in Ridgway, just a 15 minute drive down a paved road from the ridge with service stations, restaurants and a good grocery store. The home, inside and out, looks like it was built yesterday. It has gorgeous slate floors everything is modern, up to date and most of all functional. The beds are very comfy too. It is also a great central location to Silverton, Telluride and even Grand Junction. This is one of its biggest assets as you can easily drive to Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado National Monument, drive over Owl Creek Pass, Imogene Pass, Last Dollar Road or any of the other wonderful sights that SW Colorado has to offer. Even Mesa Verde National Park is only a 2 hour drive away. As a bonus, you are very near the locations, where the original TRUE GRIT was filmed, so if you want to see some of the scenery surrounding you, simply watch the movie! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone that appreciates mountainous country, while staying in in an upscale accommodation.
It had an amazing view. It was clean and we loved the decor. We definetly recommend this house to anyone and will be returning next year.
We had a wonderful time at the Hall House! Fantastic view of the mountains from the back deck. Afternoon showers in the mountains produced unbelievable rainbows. Grilled and ate in more than we ever have while on vacation, as it was hard to leave. Lots of privacy. Hummingbirds were very entertaining and there were so many we had to fill the feeder every day. Our two small dogs enjoyed the stay too! Comfy beds was a plus. Cindy was easy to work with and would stay there again.
Take in one of the charming, rustic mountain restaurants or bakeries on the way into, Ouray (20 minutes from cabin) complete with Victorian architechture and fantastic public hot springs pool.
Or take a mountain hike, bike ride, or jeep trail.
So much to do, with the most incredible beauty every where you turn!
