Dear Dave, I am happy you enjoyed our apartment. However, I feel compelled to respond to your 3-star rating and critique of the neighborhood. Yes, the block where the apartment is located is primarily residential, as most blocks just outside of the touristy city center are. But if you had spent a few more days here (as you had originally planned), you would have been able to enjoy many of the great, interesting, ethnic restaurants and cafes in the area – including a beautiful “Biergarten” and wonderful farmer’s market – all within a five-minute walking distance (all of which are described in the binder we keep for guests in the apartment). As we mentioned in the property description, the apartment is “located on a quiet street in Vienna’s most multicultural district, the apartment is perfect for those looking for a unique place to stay in an interesting, diverse, up-and-coming neighborhood, removed from the typical downtown tourist areas.” I believe this is a very honest description. Of course, if you wanted to stay in a penthouse apartment next to the St. Stephans Cathedral in the tourist center of the city, you probably would have had to pay at least double the price. thanks a lot for your stay again Very kind regards from Vienna Monika

Dear Kim thanks a lot for your review. However, we must state that we ourselves have the same air conditioner in our apartment and have never had to deal with a problem like you described. Also, none of our guests have ever complained about it. And we have been renting and living here since 2013. Unfortunately, you also used the washing machine tabs incorrectly and the whole apartment was wet and the fan in the bedroom was still turned up when we came into the apartment hours after you left. Dear Rob, thank you very much for staying with us, and thank you for pointing out the advantages of the apartment. We are sorry that you thought it was loud - that is very surprising to hear, and that is the first time that we have heard this criticism from a guest in the entire five years we have been renting out the apartment on this platform! I really wish you could be more specific, since there is actually no apartment that directly "backs up" onto the vacation rental - only one that is below it (where a small family of 4 resides). The apartment where we live is (as you mentioned) on the same floor, but our son is typically in bed by 9:00pm on weekends and is not known for being loud. Of course we cannot control what all the tenants living in a residential building with 13 other apartments do, but if you had called us we certainly would have looked into it (and, if necessary, contacted those who were being loud). Although we do live on the same floor, we of course always try our best to respect our guest's privacy. Actually, most guests we have had see this as a positive thing since this allows us to be immediately responsive and attentive to any problems or questions from guests that may arise. In any case, we're sorry that you felt this way, but we were certainly not "watching" you. We only noticed the bathroom window since we see it when we arrive with the elevator to our floor. It is our experience that the modern heat-pump/floor-heating system in the apartment works best when the windows are closed on cold winter days while the guests are out of the apartment during the day. Of course it is absolutely no problem to open the windows to air out a couple of times a day (which we mentioned), We were just trying to ensure that your stay was comfortable. Best Regards, Monika
