This charming cottage, built in 1964, has been recently updated without ruining the architectural simplicity of its design. The spectacular view of the lake and the peaceful environment make this spot an amazing retreat. The fully functional kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals - stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, coffee maker plus a little bit of the basics such as salt, spices, oil and flour. The deck has a gas BBQ, a dining table and chairs, and a separate seating area. The house has wi-fi, a portable DVD player (no TV), stereo, telephone, washer and dryer. The property and its secluded sandy beach is on the west arm of Kootenay Lake just 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Nelson. There is a lot to do in Nelson plus parks, hiking, skiing and hot springs close by.

About Chris Ubick
Our mother, Janet, purchased this property in 1928 when the best way to get there was by boat from Nelson. She taught school in Nelson and loved the outdoors. It was an apple farm and the old house that they used for camping is right next door the the cottage (which Janet and her husband built in 1964). Our cousins live in the next two houses along the lake and step in as property hosts while we are away.

Why Chris Ubick chose Nelson
Janet's parents moved to Nelson in the 1890's and her father, Alexander Carrie, was the architect of many of the historic buildings in downtown Nelson. But the biggest reason they all stayed is the beauty of the Kootenays.
What makes this Cottage unique
The house is comfortable, the beach is relaxing, the views are spectacular and there are so many activities minutes away but you won't want to leave.

MILLION DOLLAR VIEW.
Beautiful view.Clean and comfortable. Very nice cottage. Enjoyed the area. Would definitely like to come back and stay again.
Great location, very clean
Our family loved staying here. The owners were responsive but never bothered us (even though they’re next door). Place is very clean and well organized. Things like a brand new kitchen sponge, lots of extra clean towels and linens, clean drawers, etc.
Wasps were a problem but I can’t blame the place for that as they were everywhere we went in the Kootenay’s. Would definitely come back.
Cabin had everything and the beach was wonderful.
Sooo comfortable and perfect !!
We spent a long weekend with my sister and it was perfect. Beautiful view, very peaceful and tranquil.
Clean and cute lake house with amazing views and private beach
Lovely beach house, incredible private beach and view down the Lake. It's very comfortable living with a well-stocked kitchen, lots of linens and towels, a washer and dryer, and plenty of hot water.
I've been there several times and the owners have been very pleasant to meet. They give us privacy once we've arrived and that makes it even easier to unwind and enjoy the place.
The only real negative is the road noise. The house is close to highway 3 and so at busy traffic times, it's loud. There are long periods when the road is pretty quiet but when you're having a meal on the deck you sure notice. It's really not that big of a nuisance - we keep coming back. But it is worth a star off.
Came for the second time , was not disappointed, once again had a great relaxing time , this cabin has everything you need , we loved having the fire at night and sitting on the beach in the day , few minutes drive to Nelson where we had one of the best curries . We will be back
