We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely apartment. It was very spacious and had everything we needed and much, much more. Orvieto is beautiful and this apartment is very central to everything. It's a bit difficult to find parking and we had to walk a long way to get our car but that wasn't too much of a problem. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Orvieto.

Terrazza Paradiso was perfect. So close to restaurants and shops but away from the main tourist streets. Our host Rosalba was great - helpful and available without being intrusive. Apartment was clean and well equipped with very comfortable beds. Sofas not so comfortable! Spent 2 weeks there with different family members, terrace great for sitting and socialising.

You feel like you are living in the past with modern amenities. Our host was incredibly helpful with parking and other advice.

We're a family of 4. We have teenagers. We're British....but don't click away just yet. And we've travelled a bit over this planet. I've always said we'd never got back anywhere. Never. The world is too big. There's always a different corner. The familiar business of 'we must come back' written by a guest in cheap biro in a dusty dog eared visitors' book never rang true. I'll tell you what though; we'd love to come back to Il 2. Seriously. It is that good. Come here. See the sun set over these hills behind Orvieto and tell your grand kids. Taste the wine from the estate and boast about it at the pub. Kick back and relax by the pool and just let time run slowly. The house and the grounds allow stresses to drain away. Read this in November. It's dark at 5:00pm. It's cold. It's Sunday. You're watching Antiques Roadshow. Now think of a place where sun, sky and rolling hills merge. Think of a vineyard and wine and endless rolling views over southern Umbria. If this place is available and you've read this much then click on. Book it.

Where do you start when something is this good? The house is an attractive semi detached converted farmhouse in the owner's picturesque smallholding on the outskirts of the small town of Orvieto. This is quite simply one of the best places we've ever stayed in and we really didn’t want to leave and come home. The house is good looking from outside, but the inside is truly special. This was Alessandra’s and Pierluigi’s family home before they built and moved into the adjacent property which is also on the smallholding, and the love and care that has been put into the place shows. It is a beautiful home and was a privilege to stay here. Alessandra and Pierluigi are fantastic hosts who are warm, friendly, welcoming and a fountain of knowledge of things to see and do, they could not have been more helpful. Add to that the wonderful welcoming touches such as fresh eggs from their free range chickens, fruit and vegetables grown on site, a simple selection of cooking ingredients in stock like salt, pepper, olive oil and herbs, some pasta and a jar of Alessandra’s wonderful homemade tomato sauce and we felt right at home straight away. As a base to explore the region, this is superbly placed but note you do need a car to make the most of it as there are many local towns worth visiting. The main car park for Orvieto, the railway station, the local supermarkets, and the autostrada if heading further afield, are all with in 5 to 10 minutes drive. Situated on the southern border of Umbria, it is easy to explore this region and that of Tuscany to the north, or to visit Rome which we did by train for a day trip. We did have a day out to the seaside as well which took about an hour and a half to get to so it is doable. This place is superb for families of all ages. It is also ideal for couples who want to explore the region, irrespective of the time of year. We certainly intend to come back to this wonderful place. Grazie mille, Alessandra e Pierluigi!
