Cozy vacation home in picture-book village, 2 km to the beach at the Pont du Gard

My house is located in the center of the charming little village of Vers Pont du Gard, just 2 km from the Roman aqueduct, where you can also enjoy swimming and canoeing. My house used to be the village store; “Epicerie” is still written above the front door. Thick walls, original built-in cabinets, historic doors, old tiles—it all has a bit of a rustic charm. Furnished with love, mostly with antique furniture, and well-equipped. A large, secluded rooftop terrace with a lookout. Just around the corner is the village square with a great bar and pizza place; around the other corner is the village restaurant. A bakery and a small store are 150 meters away. Living space is approximately 130 m², providing plenty of privacy for 4 to 6 people. The house is furnished for private use, not primarily as a rental property; you’re welcome to use everything you find there—the grill, the hammock, bicycles, the fireplace, the DVD collection, etc.—and feel right at home.
The historic cities of Avignon, Orange, Nîmes, and Arles are each just over 30 minutes away; the beach (Plage Espiguette near Aigues-Mortes) and Montpellier are about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Also fascinating are the Chauvet 2 cave paintings along the Ardèche River, about an hour north of Vers. And, of course, there’s the vibrant medieval town of Uzès with its famous markets, just 10 km away. Vers is wonderful.
