Beautiful Waimanalo Beach House steps from the ocean

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-9)

Waimanalo Beach House is a lovely home along a beautiful six mile long white sand Waimanalo Beach. Waimanalo Beach is located on Hawaii's main island, Oahu, and is just 25 minutes from Honolulu International Airport and famous Waikiki Beach.

It sleeps 8 in the bedrooms and a ninth in the living room on a twin bed. It is right on the beautiful sandy beach and you can see the ocean from the living room, dining room and master bedroom. The beach is magnificent. There are no rocks and no coral. There are beautiful views of the pali cliffs and the sunrise.

There is a three bedroom, two bath main house with shower and jacuzzi tub and HDTV and also a separate cottage with a fourth bedroom with its own queen size bed, HDTV, and bathroom with shower. Magnificent views of several off shore islands and the morning sunrise offer an inspiring start to each day. This is your own piece of paradise, and whether it is a honeymoon, adventure, or family holiday, it has it all. Facilities include a modern kitchen, bamboo floors, koa floors, jacuzzi tub, HDTV's, outdoor hot/cold shower and built-in barbecue pits. The large private yard is adorned with hibiscus flowers, plumeria trees, mature paperbark trees, Madagascar olives and coconut trees! Enjoy the private beach access as you walk through a short, sand trail surrounded by beach Naupaka. Hawaiian style beach house located feet from Waimanalo Beach, the longest stretch of sandy shoreline on O`ahu. The white sand beach directly in front of the house is truly amazing and one of the most spectacular beaches on the Island. There are no rocks or coral reefs to interfere with your enjoyment while swimming. The waves break on the reef offshore. On a clear day, you can see Molokai. Some days you can even see as far as Haleakela on Maui. You can also see Rabbit Island and Black Rock, now sanctuaries for the big sea birds. The pali cliffs are magnificent and some days you can see hang gliders enjoying the Waimanalo breezes. The house has an outdoor hot and cold shower for an easy return to the house from the beach and an outdoor red brick deck.

Wonderful Beachfront Setting Away From the Crowds

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a beachfront house away from the crowds, and this house fit us perfectly. Our family of two parents and four kids (ages 8-19) was joined by the in-laws, who enjoyed the separate cottage.

The setting is very private and quiet - a neighborhood away from the resorts. The beach is steps away, right out the back door, and might as well be a private beach. You'll see a few tourists, but most visitors are locals, who clearly love and protect their beach. This is windward, so some debris does wash up onshore, but the beachgoers quickly pick it up. The other thing that washes up in varying numbers are man-o-war, which can sting, but are generally only a minor nuisance. Several in our party received very mild stings, but that was with a LOT of play time in the water, over two full weeks. This would not dissuade us from returning, nor from playing for hours in the water. The beach has mild waves (at least in the summer), great for beginner-level boogie boarding, body surfing, and general frolicking. The beach is soft sand, so living barefoot is the way, and sand creations should be pursued. Some wonderful sunrises, as well.

In terms of the house itself, it is very comfortable. While the sun can be hot, the constant breeze keeps the house nice and cool. And while the mountains directly behind receive plenty of rain (and are frequently capped with dramatic clouds), we rarely had sprinkles at the house. There is plenty of room to spread out here and really make yourself at home.

There are several good casual eating spots less than a half-mile walk from the house: Serg's Mexican, Ono Steak and Shrimp, Keneke's (grill and shave ice) and the Hawaiian Island Cafe (quality breakfast and lunch all day). The Waimanalo Market Co-op is also walking distance, with fresh free-range eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other local treats. Lots of shopping and restaurants ten or so minutes away in Kailua, or just a bit further away in Hawaii Kai.

Hawaiian Vacation Beach House

  • 4 of 5

This was truly a turn key operation. Nothing was left to chance as instructions were provided to reach the house, find the keys, and where local restaurants and stores were located as well as the nearest shopping center.

The house was immaculate upon our arrival and the owner was available for any questions that we might have. It is Rustic and right ON the beach. Everything one could want was provided for in the house, from cooking and eating utensils, spices, towels, lounging furniture, outdoor shower in addition to the indoor ones, internet, complete entertainment center with books, videos, music and more. The accomodations worked out well for us, five adults and three children 6-8 years of age.

This is truly a great Beach house as the beach is a stone throw away and we had fun walking the beach in the sand, or walking the trail above the beach.

Perfect place for relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

Found awesome hikes nearby and spent the rest of our time on the beach playing in the waves. Only downside was that we had no interest in exploring the rest of the island because the beach was so nice!

How a stay in Hawaii should be

  • 5 of 5

This house is located on a beautiful beach, largely undeveloped, and mostly empty of people. It is idyllic. The house is large, with great spaces for families to hang out (the living room and dining room), but also little private spaces to hide away. The upstairs bedroom is all windows on the wall facing the ocean. Staying here is heaven.

Perfect beach setting

  • 5 of 5

The house and the guest cottage were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. The beach was absolutely beautiful and we loved having it just steps away from the house! It was nice to be away from the noise and commotion of Honolulu without being too far. We'd love to return!

Fully stocked house just ready for your visit!

  • 4 of 5

First let me say - you DO NOT need to pack a fan, hair dryer, or spices if you are going to spend time in this house! Each bathroom has a hair dryer and fan and the kitchen in stocked with all the spices and most supplies you need to get started. Secondly - plan on spending at least some of your days just staying home. The beach is incredible and just steps outside the back door. Originally 4 of us women were going to share the house, but it turned into 3. I had the bedroom upstairs and I listened to the waves pounding the beach each day and each night. What a way to wake up! There is only a tub upstairs so I shared the shower downstairs with another friend. One of our group used the guest house and she did need to use the AC. The rest of the house did not have AC. Great kitchen and dining area as well as living room. Plenty of space. The yard is fabulous. There are beach towels available as well so don't bother packing them. Your little friends are these tiny sugar ants - so be sure to put your food away and clean up after yourself. I do have to warn you - this is a house on the beach, so salt water does corrode things. The house has many "parts" that look very worn, but it is clean, inviting, spacious, and this part of Oahu is the best. You are less than 40 minutes away from everything! But again - just sit and enjoy. There is an incredible guide book at the house - use it!
