Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-9)

Waimanalo Beach House is a lovely home along a beautiful six mile long white sand Waimanalo Beach. Waimanalo Beach is located on Hawaii's main island, Oahu, and is just 25 minutes from Honolulu International Airport and famous Waikiki Beach.

It sleeps 8 in the bedrooms and a ninth in the living room on a twin bed. It is right on the beautiful sandy beach and you can see the ocean from the living room, dining room and master bedroom. The beach is magnificent. There are no rocks and no coral. There are beautiful views of the pali cliffs and the sunrise.

There is a three bedroom, two bath main house with shower and jacuzzi tub and HDTV and also a separate cottage with a fourth bedroom with its own queen size bed, HDTV, and bathroom with shower. Magnificent views of several off shore islands and the morning sunrise offer an inspiring start to each day. This is your own piece of paradise, and whether it is a honeymoon, adventure, or family holiday, it has it all. Facilities include a modern kitchen, bamboo floors, koa floors, jacuzzi tub, HDTV's, outdoor hot/cold shower and built-in barbecue pits. The large private yard is adorned with hibiscus flowers, plumeria trees, mature paperbark trees, Madagascar olives and coconut trees! Enjoy the private beach access as you walk through a short, sand trail surrounded by beach Naupaka. Hawaiian style beach house located feet from Waimanalo Beach, the longest stretch of sandy shoreline on O`ahu. The white sand beach directly in front of the house is truly amazing and one of the most spectacular beaches on the Island. There are no rocks or coral reefs to interfere with your enjoyment while swimming. The waves break on the reef offshore. On a clear day, you can see Molokai. Some days you can even see as far as Haleakela on Maui. You can also see Rabbit Island and Black Rock, now sanctuaries for the big sea birds. The pali cliffs are magnificent and some days you can see hang gliders enjoying the Waimanalo breezes. The house has an outdoor hot and cold shower for an easy return to the house from the beach and an outdoor red brick deck.

Beautiful house, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Came here for a staycation with the gf. Right on the beach, it's a perfect place to relax, swim, bodysurf, and enjoy the giant bathtub after. Nice breezes too.

Beautiful home, best location, right on the beach!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved Sherry's beach house! She was so easy to work with and very accommodating throughout. The beach house is at the best location at our favorite beach in Waimanalo. We were getting married at a nearby venue so this was the perfect house for us and our family to stay. We loved the gorgeous sunrises every morning and the stars at night. The kids and the adults loved the beach front location, the big yard, outdoor shower, and the BBQ pits. The kids loved using the body boards and kayak at the house. Everyone said it was the best beach weekend ever! Mahalo for welcoming us into your home! We will cherish all the beautiful memories we made :)

Lovely vacation stay

  • 4 of 5

The property was wonderful. Very well stocked in regards to kitchen items, and we had a blast with beach amenities. One minor thing was that we didn't have enough toiletries and dish soap to last us the week. This was not a big deal, we just went to the store and bought some; we left them behind to leave it for the next guest. It would have been a 5 star stay, however somebody got bit by an unknown creature, had an immediate reaction and started vomiting. We had to take him to the ER. The doctor told us it's a bite from a poisonous centipede, and apparently Waimanalo is famous for it. We had no prior knowledge. It would have been great to be warned about that and prevent a trip to the ER. Other than that, it was a lovely stay and we would love to come back!

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed the beautiful white sandy Waimanalo beach and are very happy you had a good experience overall and want to return. Waimanalo is a rural area in the tropics and we have professional pest control service on a regular basis. We are truly very sorry that one of the guests had a problem and, as soon as we learned about it, we applied an additional treatment of an organic insecticide. Based on your comments, we now include more toiletries and soap. We provide a telephone number for the guests to call and make ourselves available. We do hope that you will come again! Mahalo nui loa and thank you for helping us improve our vacation beach rental. Aloha Sherry

Wonderful Beachfront Setting Away From the Crowds

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a beachfront house away from the crowds, and this house fit us perfectly. Our family of two parents and four kids (ages 8-19) was joined by the in-laws, who enjoyed the separate cottage.

The setting is very private and quiet - a neighborhood away from the resorts. The beach is steps away, right out the back door, and might as well be a private beach. You'll see a few tourists, but most visitors are locals, who clearly love and protect their beach. This is windward, so some debris does wash up onshore, but the beachgoers quickly pick it up. The other thing that washes up in varying numbers are man-o-war, which can sting, but are generally only a minor nuisance. Several in our party received very mild stings, but that was with a LOT of play time in the water, over two full weeks. This would not dissuade us from returning, nor from playing for hours in the water. The beach has mild waves (at least in the summer), great for beginner-level boogie boarding, body surfing, and general frolicking. The beach is soft sand, so living barefoot is the way, and sand creations should be pursued. Some wonderful sunrises, as well.

In terms of the house itself, it is very comfortable. While the sun can be hot, the constant breeze keeps the house nice and cool. And while the mountains directly behind receive plenty of rain (and are frequently capped with dramatic clouds), we rarely had sprinkles at the house. There is plenty of room to spread out here and really make yourself at home.

There are several good casual eating spots less than a half-mile walk from the house: Serg's Mexican, Ono Steak and Shrimp, Keneke's (grill and shave ice) and the Hawaiian Island Cafe (quality breakfast and lunch all day). The Waimanalo Market Co-op is also walking distance, with fresh free-range eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other local treats. Lots of shopping and restaurants ten or so minutes away in Kailua, or just a bit further away in Hawaii Kai.

Hawaiian Vacation Beach House

  • 4 of 5

This was truly a turn key operation. Nothing was left to chance as instructions were provided to reach the house, find the keys, and where local restaurants and stores were located as well as the nearest shopping center.

The house was immaculate upon our arrival and the owner was available for any questions that we might have. It is Rustic and right ON the beach. Everything one could want was provided for in the house, from cooking and eating utensils, spices, towels, lounging furniture, outdoor shower in addition to the indoor ones, internet, complete entertainment center with books, videos, music and more. The accomodations worked out well for us, five adults and three children 6-8 years of age.

This is truly a great Beach house as the beach is a stone throw away and we had fun walking the beach in the sand, or walking the trail above the beach.
