Enjoyed our stay, peaceful and relaxing. House is well-equipped. Excellent communication with the hostess, responded to messages promptly. Would stay again.
This was my second stay and it was as fabulous as the first. Great location, beautiful views, well appointed, spotless…I can go on and on. Just perfect.
Such a beautiful place. The house is much bigger than you would expect looking at the photos. The boat house house with the balcony by the lake is wonderful, we want to go back during fall to enjoy the view of the lake even more.
This property and the location exceeded our expectations. The property had everything we needed(kitchen supplies,bedding,etc.). The boathouse waterfront was perfect for relaxation, kayaking the lake, enjoying nature and enjoying meals outdoors. Would definitely return and highly recommend!!
The property was very spacious and well maintained. Lots of extras including kitchen supplies and board games. Unfortunately, forest fire smoke limited outside activities.
This was the perfect place to relax and recharge. A beautiful, comfortable home with every detail considered. Close enough to the city, but a world away. Enjoyed hiking Blanchet trail and the view of the lake from the dock.
The house is beautiful, very clean and well provisioned. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that there are about 40 stairs from the parking area to the front door, which was a bit tricky for my bad back and my daughter’s sore hip. So you should be in decent physical health for that. Otherwise it was a fabulous getaway, very relaxing.
This is a perfect lake retreat and a wonderful host. The home has everything that you need, and is immaculately clean but also very comfortable to relax, make a fire, put your feet up. Lots of different living spaces for everyone to have their little spot to relax.
The only note for people who have limited mobility are the stairs to access the home are not suitable for anyone who isn't fully mobile.
I would stay here again without a moment's hesitation.
This was an amazing stay. Much better in person as the pictures don’t do it justice. Nancy does a fantastic job of thinking of the little extras to make your stay feel like home. If I could have given 6 stars, I would have.
This lake is pristine and quiet. Best over the water patio and screened in porch on the lake with all the things you would need to stay there all day if you wanted. Stayed 5 nights in June and would definitely stay there again.
We came up for the tulip festival and wanted to experience the city of Ottawa but wanted to be away from city life for down time. This house was perfect for exactly that. With great proximity to Ottawa it was easy in and out. Once you arrive to the house it seems a world away. We did not here any sounds and rested well inside. The boat house area was wonderful. A visit to Old Chelsea is a must, with quaint shops and excellent food choices! Thank you for sharing this home with us.
We stayed at this location for two nights. It is a very large somewhat impersonal house that has a lot of amenities in it. It is fully stocked to have a party for a large group. We found it to be very dark and not really inviting but very well maintained and comfortable. It faces north and is not touched by sun so it's probably very good for a hot summer day. The best feature was the boat house which was lovely and very comfortable and has a lot of equipment so I just kayaks and children's toys etc. Lots of room for barbecues and parties.
Luxury in a beautiful setting, with an amazing boat-house /deck
The property in in Gatineau Park, on Meech Lake. The house itself is immaculate! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could need. Amid beautiful reclaimed wood decor, there was also a Huge Gas range. Dining room, living room and TV loft were excellent. Main bathroom features a stand-alone tub that even die-hard shower-ers would be inclined to use. The space was spotless on check-in. Now onto the star of the show - the boat house. A two story extravaganza with BBQ, lounges, shady areas on the top, with a beautiful screened in porch, with fridge and freezer at water level. Kayaks, floaties, life jackets all there. Dining on either level. Beautiful view and easy access onto the lake. The house is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but well worth it. A giant storm knocked out power in the middle of the night, but their backup generator kicked in automatically. The host was responsive and our stay was superb.
We stayed at this beautiful home a few years back and returned again. Everything was just as nice. Meech Lake is very peaceful, mostly without motor boats and Gatineau is magical. Nancy's place is a wonderful as ever.
Nancy was an amazing host to deal with. She was very fast at replying to any questions and provided additional information when needed.
The property and home are beautiful. You can tell a lot of though went into decisions regarding the place. The boathouse is an excellent option if you want to be at the water but want more shade or to be screened in. It felt as if it were a living room on the lake. The lake was very calm with a sandy bottom and walk in access.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice getaway. It was a very peaceful retreat from the city.
The home is gorgeous. The kitchen is very equipped. Two of us are seniors and the stairs leading from the road up to the house presented a small challenge but once in the home, the climb is well worth it.
The pictures do not do this property justice. It's nicer than it appears from the photos. Nancy's attention to details and care of this property is very evident. A very relaxing experience.
This was a great home to fully relax and enjoy a change of scenery in a perfect location. Nancy is a great host, timely responses to all questions. Home is well setup for your stay. This was our second time at this property and will definitely be back again.
Great destination point to gather for our small reunion. Ample nooks and sitting areas to contrast the need between alone time versus social times. Dream kitchen to cook around and oh yeah, having direct access to the quiet waterfront was pretty spectacular too :)
Stunningly stylish and beautiful house. Fantastic dock patio where we had dessert and enjoyed the view of the lake and surrounding woods with their coloured leaves. Kitchen and dishes are excellent quality-we cooked an excellent Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed the large and very comfortable house where we spent the week. Very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. We walked some of the Gatineau park trails.
