About Porter and Jeff Shehab
My husband and I met on the Island in the mid '80's and have family that live here year round. We are happily raising our family in New Jersey on a small farm. While we enjoy raising and showing Lincoln Sheep we stay busy with all the critters! If we do not get back to your email straight away it is because of the joys of country living. Please note for security reasons we want to protect you and ourselves from any fraud/scams. We will never ask payment to be wired for that very reason.

Quaint Cottage during Christmas Stroll
We rented this cottage with another couple for the annual Christmas Stroll in downtown Nantucket. The house provided everything we needed and with easy access to downtown, within a 7 minute walk. We will definitely consider this property again in the future!
Grateful for your kind care.
Delighted you enjoyed friends and good cheer!

So quaint and beautifully appointed inside and out!
My husband and I enjoyed exploring Nantucket and it started by feeling like we belonged. The moment we passed through the garden gate we were charmed. The house is small but cleverly designed so you have everything you need. The furniture and artwork are high end and lend the feeling of being home and not in a rental. Every window has a peak of greenery which lends to the serenity. We walked to and from downtown for touring and dinners. A perfect location.
Loved this house
Beautiful home. Close to town! We had the best time. Loved the fresh flowers😃
Charming, Cozy, and Comfortable Gem in Town
I had the pleasure of staying at Porter's charming cottage this May and I am still talking about how much I loved it! It's hard to pick a favorite feature of the cottage because it was all so well-suited for our needs. First, the location couldn't be better. Walkable to town (about 7-10 minutes) yet gloriously serene and secluded given the gardens and quiet street. The cottage itself is that perfect balance of charm and functionality/comfort. I marveled at the gorgeous beams running through the downstairs space and was impressed with the decor. While we didn't cook, the kitchen is incredibly appointed with a beautiful window overlooking a meadow (so pretty!). The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the beds are outfitted very high quality bedding. For those who hope to spend time outside, we truly loved relaxing on the patio and enjoying the beautiful, lush, sun-filled gardens.
Last, Porter is a true pleasure to work with. For example, when I had a wi-fi connectivity problem, she was immediately responsive via phone and text until we resolved it, which was so appreciated. We are already planning our Nantucket weekend at the cottage for 2018!
Thank you for the kind review. We put forth our best efforts to provide a professionally managed classic Nantucket property/experience. Looking forward to seeing you next year.
A charming and convenient cottage
My family and I recently enjoyed a week in this charming home and garden. The home is very well provisioned -- the kitchen has top of the line modern appliances. The decor includes many original works of art and is traditional but comfortable -- in keeping with Nantucket itself. The garden is a special oasis, and we enjoyed breakfasts and dinners on the patio. This lovely home was perfect for our family of four with our young adult daughters, but would work well with families with younger children or two couples. It is within walking distance to restaurants, shops and museums. A hidden gem!
We are so glad you enjoyed our tucked away "Gem"!
Wonderful property !!! More than what we expected. We did not have a car and the property was walking distance to town. The Gardens are gorgeous and the quaintness of the house made us really want to stay longer. Will definitely be back !!
Our cottage when first built served as the carriage house to The Greater Light. A Nantucket Historical treasure.
