Ocean Side Apartment is a lovely, well appointed apartment with a great view of the bay across from downtown Lunenburg, N.S. John and Gail Patriarche are very gracious hosts and Gail is a very accomplished artist.

Wow what can I say...John and Gail have a truly breath taking view from their apartment. Lunenburg is a beautiful little village about a hr and half from halifax. John directions are perfect. We took so many pictures. We took a drive through the annopalis valley then drove to the bay of fundy to Margaretville. We came a bit too early for the leaves to be turning so come at the end of September/October
The views will be amazing.
You will have the best time just touring around this quiet little village. John and Gail are perfect hosts. We can't thank you enough for sharing your paradise with us.

The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect to explore Lunenburg and the surrounding area. We really enjoyed the view from the apartment and would have sat there to admire the view all day if we had time. The hosts, John and Gail, were very welcoming and available to help us whenever we needed it. The only thing that would have made our stay better would be if there was a larger bed, rather than a set of twin beds. Thanks John and Gail for a great stay.
The apartment is ideally situated across the harbor from Lunenburg - providing a picture perfect view of this absolutely charming town. My wife and I routinely walked into the town - it's about a 20 minute walk into the town center - some of it along a lightly traveled road and the rest along a walking trail. If we wanted a shorter walk we would just drive to the walking trail and park (of course, street parking in town is an option - we just like to walk). The apartment is well maintained with a nice kitchen, comfortable bedroom and relatively spacious (for an apartment) dining and living area with a bay window providing the great view. I can't say enough nice thing about our hosts - very welcoming and informative about the area (from restaurant recommendations to advice on places to visit outside of Lunenburg). Our favorite restaurant in town is the Fish Factory (calamari, haddock, lobster - situated right on the harbor), but there is no shortage of good restaurants in Lunenburg. In the same building as the restaurant is the Fisheries Museum - they provide a very worthwhile tour. We also especially enjoyed a two hour sailing trip that takes you outside the harbor to a site on the coast with sea caves (that that we had driven to a day prior). Another worthwhile day trip is making the short drive to Mahone Bay - a smaller, picturesque town with good restaurants and shops (check out the pewter shop - they demonstrate how they make their jewelry and ornaments). All in all a great, restful and scenic vacation. I highly recommend the property.
