I am a world traveler, originally from Italy. I like to spend time in beautiful places and share them with like minded people. I have a home in Mill Valley California which is also on VRBO #360560, and a home in Rome, Italy. This little gem in Moorea, a half hour ferry ride from the main island of Tahiti, is my special little retreat in the sun, to get away from the cold of winter.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2009
Moorea is one of the more beautiful places I have seen in my travels. The people are laid back and nice, the climate is mild and the ocean is clean. There are few tourists, so it is still very 'real', without being third world because it is French. The restaurants serve great food, and the healthcare is good in case I need it. There are many outdoor activities available, like hiking, biking, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving, as well as my favorite, Tahitian dancing. The house is within a gated residenceal area, so it is totally private and safe for a single woman like me. The neighbors are mostly couples and families. The caretaker and his wife are helpful if I need anything and there is a fitness facility which I like to use when it rains. The Intercontinental hotel is at the bottom of the hill if I want some action. They rent paddle boards and kayaks, have a happy hour at sunset and a good restaurant. A small shopping center with a supermarket is 5 minutes away and there are a number of good restaurants in the area.
The reason I chose this property over others is the security of the gated residence, the site, which is very beautiful and although not directly on the beach, the beach is just down the hill. The hill itself offers great hiking right of out my front door. The villas, designed by a well known French architect, are very tasteful, beautifully landscaped, and have all the modern amenities. My villa has only 2one neighbor, and is very quiet and private.
My fiance and I decided on a last minute trip to Moorea before heading to Bora Bora for a couple days. We came across this home and from the moment we inquired it was so easy to book, get information from the property manager about how to get the house, transportation options, where to eat, shop ect. She was such a pleasure to work with and incredibly helpful answering any questions we had about anything! The home itself was beyond our expectations, it was beautifully furnished, super clean and located at the top of the hill overlooking the intensely green, lush valley and the ocean. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for relaxing, private and beautiful without the crowds and bustle of a hotel.
Thank you for such a great stay!!!
This house is a real treat! It has a beautiful view, it's nice and clean and great to have the spa and outdoor shower. Perfect location. Across Intercontinental hotel where you can go and watch dolphins and turtles and a great please for lunch is Snack Mahana (5min away) Absolute recommendation!! Enjoy your stay there! Moorea is my number 1 of the 6 islands I visit :)
Recently we spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Moorea . Apart from perfect weather ( lucky us, it was during the wet season ! ) we loved our accommodation : a very comfortable, private and stylish villa with splendid views and a nice tub on the deck with sun heated water. We would love to come back! Thank you Eleonora
I wanted a secluded romantic place for myself and my American sweetheart. I had been told how beautiful and comfortable these villas were. Well our expectations were well surpassed!! This 2 bedroom villa offered all the modern amenities, such as a beautiful kitchen, a laundry room, a jaccuzzi and air-conditioning in the lovely bedrooms, all the while respecting local authenticity structure and furniture wise. The view from the deck and the master bedroom, over the crystal clear lagoon and the surrounding lush mountains, as we dined under the stars was spectacular. On arrival , we were greeted by the French landlady who had decorated the living room and the bedrooms with beautiful tropical flowers and filled the fridge and cupboard with first necessaties like coffee, tea, water, sugar, soap, shampoo, washing powder etc.. as well as some delicious grapefruit marmelade she had made herself. Very discreet, she nonetheless called to see if we needed anything during our stay, which we actually extended to 2 weeks, feeling so happy there. Just around the corner, was a small shopping center with pizzeria, pharmacy, and the Tipanier restaurant which served delicious French and local specialities at moderate prices. Walking distance from the villa, down the hill, is the superb Intercontinental resort where we enjoyed great meals and 'happy hour' exotic cocktails after lazy times at the beach, swimming in limpid lagoon waters. I have travelled all over the world, and I must say this was one of the most romantic, peaceful and restful places I have ever stayed. My sweetheart is back on the East Coast now, his camera full of pictures and his head full of wonderful memories. If all goes well, we would like to stay there again at Christmas time. Just loved it!
There are a lot of things to do in Moorea. My house, although on a hill, is perfectly located for beach activities. Kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment can be rented right across the street from the residence. Tours by motorboat to sightsee, swim with rays and sharks can be booked a few minutes away from the residence, next to the hotel Tipanier, and there is a dolphin center at the bottom of the hill of the residence. The Tiki village, about 20 minutes drive, is worth going to to watch the best Tahitian dance show on the island. Snack Mahana is my favorite lunch spot on the beach, less than 10 minutes from the house. The little shopping center in Haapiti, 5 minutes away, has a grocery store, ATM,cafes, shops, a few restaurants and a gas station with a mechanic.
