About Eric and Vandy

We are a working couple living in Ventura county. We love Joshua Tree and have family ties there. While there for a visit, we came across the opportunity to buy this cabin and could not pass it up. The property has such a great location and great feeling and is very close to our family and friends' places. We hope our guests get as much enjoyment from their time there as we do.

Eric and Vandy purchased this house in 2013

Perfect little place to explore Joshua Tree

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing little place. It is literally walking distance to JTNP. All the amenities required for a comfortable stay was provided. We had a fun time exploring the park and enjoying the night sky of course. With JTNP in your backyard the skies are about as dark you can expect.

Just a small thing... Not a complaint regarding the place, but just something to be aware of. As it's quite close to the park entrance, sometimes in the late morning there's big queue of cars right outside and a steady stream of cars going out of the park in the evenings. Maybe because this was kind of a semi long weekend. But, this shouldn't deter you from staying at this amazing place. I certainly would.

Perfect getaway cabin!

  • 4 of 5

If you love being right next to Joshua Tree National Park, then this is the one! Perfect proximity for park enthusiasts. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the views, being close to town, yet with a remote enough feel. The hot tub was great, nice big kitchen that was well stocked, good heating, cozy, clean, two bathrooms was nice as well.

The only two drawbacks for us personally, were that the road to the park was right outside the house, and traffic backed up quite a lot at times, taking away some of the privacy we had been wanting in the desert. This could have been due to the park being busier than usual on a winter holiday weekend. The peak hours of traffic were usually around breakfast time when the park opened, and later at sunset when the park was emptying. This might not matter to some guests because it was super quiet at bedtime and not an issue. The other thing was the bed was on the smallish side (full size) and hard to the point that we had sore backs in the morning. I do realize however that some folks enjoy a very firm mattress! So that's just a preference.

Other than those two personal preferences, I can't think of a better place to enjoy a Joshua Tree staycation, and if those two things are ok for you, I would definitely say give this one a try!

Relaxing and Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our six day, seven night stay SO much. The house was perfect. The owners were responsive, easy to work with and respectful of our space. We were able to utilize the giant kitchen and the grill out back almost every day! Being able to jump in the hot tub after a long day of climbing and hiking in J-Tree was fantastic. Plus, the views were lovely too. Epic sunsets people. I highly recommend Casita del Conejo!!

Better than you could possibly imagine

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful time at this warm, comfortable, secluded modern cabin just outside of the Joshua Tree National Park. The location could not have been better, as we had easy access to both the park and to all the facilities in town but could still enjoy the isolation and serene beauty of the high desert. Our hosts were accommodating, responsive, and gracious. The house is clean, the hot tub is amazing, and the little fire chimney is perfect for an evening staring up at the vastness of the starry night. We will absolutely, one hundred thousand million percent be back!

Property exactly as seen in pics and described.

  • 4 of 5

Property is on main road to Joshua Tree West entrance but sits slightly back on property. Hot tub was great! Interior was very nice and kitchen worked well. We walked to the west gate entrance and walked to "The Maze" hike trail which was awesome. Overall this is an awesome place to stay if someone wants to either walk into Joshua tree or be close and drive into the park. Will definetly return.
