Beautiful palapa roofed beachfront home located one-mile from the charming town of Los Barilles. This unique two bedroom and two bath property sits on 2.5 acres garden of lush palm trees and desert flowers. The large living room and two bedrooms have open views of the Sea of Cortez. The living space extends to outdoors where the palapa roof creates an expansive shaded out door area also facing the sea. Tables and chairs provide a wonderful environment to dine al fresco while a large built in banquette with comfortable cushions create a space for quiet afternoon reading or perhaps a nap. The terrace is also perfect for sleeping on a warm summer’s night. The house is equipped with a full kitchen, an outdoor mesquite bbq and wood burning pizza oven. Rental fee includes light daily housekeeping. For the more adventurous, two kayaks are available for exciting ocean excursions.
The house and property was beautiful!! I loved being right in the beach and waking up every morning to the amazing sunrise. This was a fabulous experience for my family and would definitely come back.
This is a great place with beautiful gardens. Nice view right on the ocean.
Beautiful property. The manicured grounds, flowers, fruit trees, cacti and more was breathtaking!
Slept outside for the 12 days of Christmas under the stars, listening to the manta rays smacking the water.
The baby turtles being released to the clear ocean water each morning was a sight to see. So glad we arrived when we did. The weather was perfect 80+ cooling in the evening hours. Walking distance to an authentic Mexican restaurant, wonderful food! A great time of year to visit and looking forward returning!
From the moment we opened the gate to this property it was as if we were in a botanic garden full of citrus, palms and cactus. The grounds were very clean, manicured and maintained by a local couple who obviously care for this place like it was their own. They showed up about every other day for light cleaning and grounds care, and were very sweet and willing to help out in any way.
We were fortunately there during the turtle hatching season which was a unique opportunity to observe and even help out in the process of saving this endangered species. The ocean is literally in the backyard and the water temps were warm and the surf was calm enough to swim and kayak every day. We were there during the "windy" season which allowed us to watch world class kiteboarders and windurfers launch from the beach every day.
The house itself was beautifully built with tile floors and thatched roofs throughout. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed to cook all of our meals, and make our margaritas and fresh orange juice. There is also an outdoor wood-burning grill and oven for the adventurous ones.
The living room was spacious and had plenty of seating for entertaining, relaxing or reading some of the many fantastic books. The indoor dining table could seat eight and the patio table could seat six comfortably. The two bedrooms would sleep four, but we opted to sleep on the outdoor covered couches every night to soak up the smells and sounds of the ocean.
We had a rental car, but the town of Los Barriles is within walking distance for meals, groceries and gift shopping. There is a Restaurant/Cantina located about 100 yards up the beach and you can even cook your freshly caught fish there. There is a convenience store about three blocks away, with a quad/side by side rental company next door.
The descriptions of the property were every bit accurate, and were understated if anything.
We were definitely pleased with our selection and are already making plans for a return next year.
Location--great, grounds--outstanding, house loved it except for shared bedrooms/bathroom -no curtains. Seemed in congruent with the rest of the property (as if added on and as if you were not supposed to stay there).
Turtles!! What a boon to see them hatch.
We had the most unexpected experience here. One of the turtle rescue's operations is right in front of this VRBO so we saw and partook in baby turtle hatchings all 3 mornings we were there!! We drove up the coast for snorkeling and down the coast for scuba- all wonderful! Great restaurant within 200 yards of the house...just a walk on the beach! Wonderful ocean view with open architecture home with all that we needed to be comfortable! Ate fresh grapefruit from the trees on the property. Lovely experience! For those who love kite surfing, most afternoons were perfect weather for them.
