About Gerry and Carol Canuel

Owners Gerry and Carol Canuel have been married for 44 years and settled in the Cariboo region of British Columbia 10 years ago after tiring of the city life. Country people at heart and extreme animal lovers, Gerry and Carol decided to completely restore a historic building on their nearly 1000 acre working cattle ranch in 2003. After a lot of hard work, attention to detail and devotion to originality, the 'Old House' was ready to welcome anyone who yearns for years gone by, when life was simpler and quieter, and one could see the stars every night!

Gerry and Carol Canuel purchased this house in 1999

Why Gerry and Carol Canuel chose British Columbia

A DEFINATE MUST!

  • 5 of 5

We were there awhile back (can't remember exact date so put in June 2013)and honestly, didn't know what to expect as we were driving there (my brother booked the place) - as we pulled up in the road, I was surprised at the beauty the outside of the place held. Once the door was opened, I wished I grew up in this house! Absolutely beautiful, from the warm tones to the spacious country setting. This is a definate "stay". Hoping to go back for a few days this year - need some R&R and this is definately the place to be! Oh, we didn't meet Carol, but met Gerry and he definately the right person for owning this property...it is a trip worth taking! The cows would greet us in the day on the other side of the fence, and the dog (can't remember who he belonged to), but was adorable and so friendly that he would come visit each day too! Just go, you will love it!
