About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

Heading to Mt. Hood for some winter adventure? Stay in this lovely home and you won't have far to go to enjoy the snow - it's just one minute from Summit Ski Area, 10 minutes from Timberline Lodge, and 15 minutes from Mt. Hood Meadows.

With a fabulous location, you can spend less time driving around and more time on the slopes! This area also has amazing summertime activities, such as boating on Timothy Lake 20 miles south, hiking and biking in the surrounding wilderness, and fishing in the Sandy River. This home, right in the middle of Government Camp, is an ideal place to experience everything the area has to offer.

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has a unique shape with an efficient floorplan and just enough space for eight guests (including four adults) to sleep. Both the upper and lower floors have sitting areas - the upstairs has a large cable TV, a selection of DVDs, a Wii gaming system, and more.

The full kitchen may not have a lot of extra room, but it does have everything you may need to cook for your guests. And with so many excellent eateries nearby, including the incredible Mt. Hood Brewing Company, you may want to eat out instead!

The home has one queen bed downstairs, a double bed upstairs, and five futons that can fold out into comfortable places to sleep. A laundry area in the upstairs bathroom even provides a place to wash your clothes during extended trips. Everyone will be cozy here, and you will have great opportunities to share stories and laugh together.

This house is perfect for a home base during a ski trip. Government Camp has restaurants and a grocery store, and the much-larger Sandy is just a 30 minute drive away.

With its prime location near the slopes and its ability to accommodate large groups, this fabulous vacation home is an excellent way to live in style and comfort during your getaway!

About Vacasa of Mt Hood and Hood River

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Loved it! It was our second time staying here!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was quite spacious for the two of us. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was handy for eating in or eating out on the porch. We enjoyed relaxing on the futons and reading when we weren’t out enjoying on the beautiful hiking trails! We loved the cabin in the woods and we will be back!

We are back to this property second time. We love it. Beautiful patio with a perfectly well working gas stove, trails in the back of the house for running and hiking. Clean and well equipped. Overall, an excellent place for vacation.

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great little place close to Timberline (~10 minutes). Plenty of toiletries were supplied and the gas grill on the porch was great. There's enough beds for 10+ people (2 real beds, 2 full size futons, and 2 smaller futons) which was a bit of an overkill for myself and a friend, but would be ideal during the season if you really wanted to make a dollar stretch by packing people in.<br />

Great place, would certainly rent again if available when I come back through the area.

Surprised and disappointed.

  • 2 of 5

I found out why there were no photos of the kitchen, bedrooms and baths. Did not find Fireplace anywhere. The kitchen wouldn’t fit in a closet it was so small, by-the-way there were no closets. We had to live out of our suitcases. No drawers, and no chest of drawers. No drawers in kitchen either. Silverware was stuffed in jars. There were only 4 of us, I can’t imagine stuffing 10 people in this little cabin. Still looking for Mountain View. To be fare, The internet was awesome. Water was hot, and washer and dryer were excellent. TV worked great, although we are not much for TV. Downstairs bathroom was off of the dining and kitchen area and anyone sleeping in downstairs bedroom had to walk through that area to take a shower. Carpets looked and felt dirty. I would not recommend this little cabin to anyone.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to see this guest was disappointed. We do have pictures of all bathrooms and bedrooms of our home posted online and apologize if this guest missed them. We also apologize that we missed removing the fireplace from the amenities when it was removed from the home. The kitchen is described in the listing as being snug and can be viewed in the pictures as well. The home can hold 8 people though we understand that might not be comfortable for all groups interested in staying here. Since the home is in Government Camp, it is nestled at the base of Mt. Hood, so there really is no mountain view, nor do we advertise one. Housekeeping will inspect the carpets and schedule a professional cleaning if necessary. Thank you!
