Experience Lake Michigan the way it used to be! Lovingly restored 1930s beachfront cottage, located in a quiet residential area. The cottage sits on a wooded double lot nestled on a dune facing Lake Michigan. There is a private stairway leading to nearly 200 feet of private beach.
Just 6 miles south of Grand Haven but a world away. Wake up to the sound of birds and sip coffee while watching boats sail by, enjoy sunset dining in the comfort of the screened in porch or on the outside patio deck, then fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
The Cottage offers free Wi-Fi, a newly renovated kitchen with a grind and brew coffee maker, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and pantry area.
Dining area features banquette seating. A charming antique walnut table is perfect for family meals or a game of Scrabble.
Sleeps 4 comfortably. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed and a sofa in the living room that converts to a queen-size bed. A pack-and-play is available upon request.
The cabin includes a bathroom with a shower stall. There is also an outdoor shower, with tempered water, adjacent to the outside deck, ideal for rinsing off before entering the cottage.
Gas BBQ grill on the outside deck allows for grilling. Savor the great Lake view and one-of-a-kind sunsets as you dine at the picnic table.
Escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. Disconnect from technology and reconnect with your family, friends, or yourself. Take long walks on the beach, enjoy the water, build sand castles, bring bikes to ride along the trails. On rainy days, watch the storm blow across the lake, be amazed by the lightning show or take the opportunity to play board games, read or explore nearby Grand Haven. At night, appreciate the thousands of stars in the sky or take advantage of the community's fire pits.
For other recreation, Kirk Park is 1/2 mile away with nice hikes and Pigeon Lake is a few miles south for putting in boats and/or kayaks. These are easily accessed via the bike trails that run directly in front of the entrance to our neighborhood.
We believe you'll fall in love with the place and look forward to it being your getaway place at Lake Michigan.
This cottage was purchased by my grandfather upon his return from WWII in the 1940's. It is still in our family and several generations have enjoyed making memories here.
We treat it gently and with love, and ask you to do the same.
This place is perfect for two people. It is a small cottage in the woods, with great water views and access. It feels old and real, yet it is modern in it's amenities. It is wonderfully maintained, and has pretty much everything that you would need. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the requisite kitchen tools . We cooked every night and didn't have to do any improvising.
The location was great- although we only left the premises three times during the week that we stayed. The screened porch was a delight, and the outside decks were perfect.
The owner was very easy to work with- he was responsive and incredibly thoughtful.
This property is a rustic gem! We look forward to a next time!
My husband and I wanted to relax for a couple days after our wedding and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place! It had a great view and was clean, quiet, cute and updated. There is a very short ride to town and we spent two days in Saugatuck with our nights in front of the fire. The owner was responsive and we loved his homemade jam. Thank you Jason!!
We had the most wonderful weekend stay at Miller Cottage! This was our first time in the area. The cottage was perfectly located. A close drive to antiques, wonderful food, shopping, parks, and entertainment, but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage. We spent much of our time on the back porch watching the water, reading, and listening to the waves. The cottage was perfect for two people. The decor was warm and cozy. We have been VRBOing for years and rate this as one of our favorite places. Also a great town to visit is Grand Haven. A must do is walking to the lighthouses. We look forward to our next visit at Miller Cottage!
What a delightful cottage! We have been visiting the area for over 30 years. We are now empty nesters so the cottage was just the right size. The Miller cottage had exactly what we were looking for-a direct view of Lake Michigan and the opportunity to enjoy the sunset and beach walks. The weather was rainy, but the cottage is close to MI winery's fruit and vegetable stands, art and antiques. Lots to do even on rainy days. The cottage decorated recently updated, modern conveniences, the screen porch with the antiques was lovely. Space heater helped keep us warm. The Millers were wonderful to work with in setting-up the rental. We hope to be back again for a longer stay.
We have been going up to Grand Haven, Michigan for the past 20 years. In years past we have had one or more of our children with us and have rented small houses in Grand Haven. But now the kids are grown and on their own, so I thought this year I would change things up and stay at The Miller's Cottage...and am I glad that I did. My week at The Miller's Cottage was the most relaxing week I have ever had! There is no doubt the cottage is small, but it has everything you need. It was very clean and the decor was both fucntional and charmng. There is no doubt my favorite space in the cottage was the back porch. They weren't kidding when they said view from there was fantastic. The view was spectacular even when it was raining! When I wasn't on the back porch I could be found down on the beach or walking at nearby Kirk Park. I could have spent my time 24/7 at the cottage, but my husband wanted to go into Grand Haven and Holland a few times for meals and shopping at some of his favorite places. Both towns were easy drives from the cottage. Yes, our time at The Miller's Cottage was fantastic! Needless to say we've already booked our dates to return in 2016!
Nothing negative could be said about this lovely gem! It has a very welcoming old-fashioned cottage feel but has been modernized to make it very comfortable. Everything looks to have been updated and it's very clean. The Miller family has put a lot of love and thoughtfulness into everything they have done there. The beach is easily accessible and beautiful. We only had a couple of rainy days and were happy to have time to explore Grand Haven and Holland on those days! Lots to do in the surrounding areas, great restaurants and lots of cool bike trails.
Our children are grown and this was a perfect get away place for us.
Jason was quick to respond, professional, and very easy to work with.
We have already put our request in for next year's vacation!
