Cultus Lake Paradise In the Park

Sleeps10
Bedrooms 4
Bathrooms2
Space 1,600 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

Overview

About the property

4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large kitchen, family room, living room, TV, parking!

Come enjoy our large but cozy cabin/house at Cultus Lake. Our home is 1600 sqft, with 4 bdrms that sleep 8 in beds and more on couches, gas fireplace in the living room, fully stocked kitchen, fire pit with 12 anderondex chairs in a 16 by 16 foot brick patio out in our fully fenced back yard for some evening fires, I must add the cultus lake board has passed some new funky by-laws on fires, keep them very small or they will ask you to put the fire out, the lake may have just banned fires outdoors but they will probably leave you alone when it's small and only burn wood!!!!! This Lake has a very out of control Board, but elections should change that later this year. lots of parking for 5 cars. There is also a wood patio and cement patio with a outdoor glass table for having meals outside. There is also a washer and dryer.

We are 2 blocks up from the Lake, just far enough from the noise and wind when it comes up sometimes. The boat launch and the boat and jetskii rental place is less then 2 blocks away. Once you arrive you can park your car and walk everywhere. To waterslides, restaurants, mini golf, tennis, basketball, swim in the lake are all within walking distance. Or you can just sit in the large backyard and relax. We love going and just relaxing, forgetting that the rest of the world even exists.

Optional Jetskii rentals at an extra charge with proof of a valid B.C boaters license, minimum age of rental is 25 years old.

Cultus Lake is about an hour and 15 min drive from Vancouver, half an hour from Abbotsford and 10 min from Chilliwack

About Steve and Dori Whiteside

I own 3 Private Business Colleges and am an Executive Coach. I have been married for 25 years and have two children going to College, so please rent from us! We love the lake but also like to rent out our place to help cover cost. I have a PhD in Human and Organizational Development and love to lead Firewalking Seminars.

Steve and Dori Whiteside purchased this house in 2008

Why Steve and Dori Whiteside chose Vancouver Coast & Mountains

Always check fire rules at Cultus Lake when you arrive.

This house is large and comfortable. The backyard is among the best in the Lake area with the largest Fire pit area I know of. It is very close to the water, but far enough away so when the wind picks up at 2 to 3 pm you will never know it and can relax under our giant oak tree. We also use the house so please note it does have many of our personal items in the house we ask you to respect. But this means that the kitchen and rest of the house are fully stocked! I know you will love the place.

We had a great family weekend with friends

  • 4 of 5

The house is equipped with great beds, and plenty of kitchen utensils and dishes. The back yard is wonderful for spending time in day or evening. The house has a lot of creative decoration which is very fitting for a cabin (but kept us on our toes with the toddlers). The owners were very available and easy to communicate with, and most everything was provided. The only items I would recommend you bring extra are dishwasher and laundry pods. The house is on a septic system so water conservation is important but it didn't overly affect our stay. We would most likely rent this home again however it is more fitted as a three bedroom for families since the 4th bedroom really has no floor space once the futon is open.

nice stay

  • 5 of 5

well kept reto home. The kitchen is very well equipped and reminded me of our late gramma which made cooking in there very comfortable. We loved the back yard and ended up having hotdogs, s'mores and cake for our grandsons 1st bday. It was just the right distance from everything. Sorry the kids demolished the gum balls and really wished the old rotary phone worked.

I have to admit I was terrified of the septic tank as this city girl has never had to worry about the little things. But other wise it was an excellent stay

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. You were also a great guest and I would recommend you to any VRBO owner. You left our home in great shape and your kids were great! That's a lot of gum balls, but that's what it's there for :) Don't worry about septic, all the big homes are on it and it works great if you don't turn on all showers and taps and use it way too much at once. Never have had a issue with a guest just like people to know its a septic, sorry to make you nervous. Hope we see you at the home again, Steve and Dori

cozy retreat

  • 4 of 5

We found the cabin very warm and cozy. Loved the eclectic decorating. Some wonderful art and furniture pieces. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped (except we could not locate a corkscrew or veg parer, and the can opener needs replacing). Otherwise, everything one could need and more. The location was good, an easy walk to everything..

On the minus side we had one shower that did not work, we could not get the water to turn off, which caused us worry over filling the septic field. And the first time we used the BBQ we ran out of propane within 5 minutes.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you kind review and every now and then we get a 4 insted of a 5. It hurts but we do our best. It is clear in the hand book that the gas is free when it is full but if it is not then you have to fill it this is why you brought your own gas and I warn guests. It is just to hard to know if a tank is full and I cant keep a full tank in house for saft and when I keep them outside they get stolen. So I am sorry you think something I tell my guest you found worth mentioning. I am sorry about the Shower we will replace that knob things like that just happen. I thank you for trying to fix it and I will have it fixed right away. It seems the more we put in the house the more we hear about. Our goal is to give everyone a 100% experience and we do 98% of the time. But we wish you would have had a 5 start time not a 4 star time, next time if you stay with us we will work hard to give you a 5 star time. Thank you for being our guest and for treating our hone with such respect. Be well and please visit again, Steve and Dori

There is a three night minimum between September 14 and June 1. Absolutely no smoking, if you break this rule I will charge $500 to clean the house of smoke smell. Feel free to smoke outside, at least 10 feet from doors or windows. Cigars are recommended around the fire pit, that's where I smoke my cigars! There is a minimum stay of two nights and three nights on all three day weekends and holidays.

Check in time is 4:00pm and check out time is 11:00am

Please note all homes in the area are on septic systems. Please do not use too much water at one time, ie short showers and not 10 showers in a hour or anything like that. Usually there is no problems but if you do use too much water at one time things will drain slowly and back up.

Please only put Toilet paper in Toilets. Any wipes or other things go in trash can, as they will clog septic system.
