The ideal retreat space for serenity-seeking writers, artists, wine tourists. Floor to ceiling windows, heated floors, oh my... An absolute bargain! Can be combined with our second smaller suite.

A modern, minimalist home away from home, our Suite space offers an absolutely unique setting . The Suite is uncluttered, but is fully equipped with every modern construction detail. Built in 2009 using Passive House techniques, the house boasts double thick walls, in-floor radiant heat, triple-pane floor-to-ceiling windows. Views of Cowichan Bay estuary, Mount Tzouhalem and a neighboring orchard and forest.

On the inside, guests have full private access to a fully equipped kitchen. 1 bedroom and Den or can be 2 bedrooms 1 with bunk beds suitable for children up to 12 years old. bathroom with bathtub/Shower, sink, toilet. Bedroom - Queen size bed and built in Wardrobes. Den with Desk, computer and 2 easy chairs.

On the outside, guests have access to a large front field, back patio with table, chairs and a gas barbecue, there is also parking.

In a word, Cowichan Bay is quaint. A float-home village nestled into an area of mountains, wineries, local agriculture. The first Cittaslow town in North America, Cowichan Bay is ground zero for the 100-mile (or much less) diet boasting the immensely popular True Grains Bakery and Hilary's Cheese Shop, as well as multiple Zagat rated restaurants.

Located 10 minutes drive from the town of Duncan (home to the largest First Nations population in BC), the area is widely known for its local arts and artisan community. Ferry routes and further culture abound with Victoria just 45 minutes south and Nanaimo just 45 minutes north. Floatplanes to the surrounding Gulf Islands (Salt Spring and beyond) also depart daily from both Cowichan Bay and nearby Maple Bay.

Public bus stop to local area less than a 2 minute walk. Buses to all points on Vancouver Island from Duncan. Seaplane service from Cowichan Bay and Maple Bay. Main ferries (connecting to Vancouver area, Seattle, Gulf Islands) in Nanaimo and Victoria, with additional ferry to Salt Spring Island in Crofton.

The space allows for serenity, meaning that it is clutter free. There is a telephone, WiFi internet and a large smart TV, with full cable channels and plug-ins for your laptop.

Smoking is strictly prohibited from inside areas.

Family ocean getaway

I greatly enjoyed the modern architectural layout and simplicity as well as the panaramic view. It was set back from the highway making for a quiet stay. Further attention to some of the smaller things would have improved the stay, such as the laundry detergent soap was empty requiring us to purchase a new one, providing extra towels and wash cloths.
