Relax at this beautiful and tranquil adult-only getaway. Enjoy the beach and hiking trails which are each just a three-minute walk away, local wineries, the nearby historic Cowichan Bay fishing village with great restaurants and shops, and the quiet of this wooded 1-acre property. Situated between the ocean and Hof Park, Sea and Cedar Retreat offers everything you need to unwind. The clean, newly renovated house features two luxurious King-sized beds, one bathroom, a complete, well-stocked kitchen, a scenic balcony with a barbecue, a backyard patio, a private outdoor space surrounded by old-growth cedars and firs, and 2 smart TVs. Perfect for 2 people, but can accommodate a maximum of 4.

Impeccably clean rental in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and very comfortable beds. Hosts are friendly and quick to respond. The unit location is easy to find and check into and has trails and beaches just steps away. A peaceful retreat we would book again.

Short vacation getaway

Very nice property with convenient access to both a quiet beach along the bay and a (steep) trail for a walk amongst the tall trees.It’s minutes away from Cowichan Bay village, and a convenient location for easy access to Duncan and the surrounding area.

Very beautiful, quiet holiday home. Very tastefully furnished. Top location, just a few minutes from the beach. There are even private chairs available at the beach. Very nice landlords who live a few meters away and help immediately in case of any problems. Thank you very much for allowing us to spend a few days in this house. We can recommend the house without any reservations.

Wonderful hosts, beautiful place

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful stay. The hosts were so kind and generous and made us feel so at home. The house is well set up with everything we needed and the beach access made for a relaxing band beautiful stay. We will definitely be back!

An oasis of peace

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea and Cedars. The hosts are thoughtful and have truly thought of everything. The unit is beautiful and clean and, best of all, a short walk gets you on the beach. It was a perfect spot for us.

Clean and Relaxing

This was a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed and was incredibly clean. The location was close enough to anything we needed and several prime tourist destinations, but far enough away that it was silent at night. We loved watching the bunnies in the morning and the bats at dusk. The nearby beach was a delight. I would happily recommend this place to anyone looking.

absolutely beautiful!

We were there for an anniversary weekend. Such a jewel! Excellent location, quiet, serene, everything you'd want for a relaxing get-away. There are some wonderful trails that we explored with beautiful scenery. Thank you Garry and Kathy for a wonderful stay.

Pristine cleanliness. Thoughtfully stocked with the extras you don’t think to bring on vacation. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. We loved coming back to the quiet, scenic neighborhood after a busy day and enjoying the beautiful view from the deck.

Quiet and serene

This is a beautiful location it's quiet and serene. I loved waking up to the sounds of birds and having breakfast on the patio enjoying the beautiful view of the trees and surrounding nature. The accommodation had everything we needed and more, it was very clean. Kathy was very quick to respond to any questions we had and created a wonderful experience for us! We highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back if we wanna stay in the area again!

The home was absolutely stunning. Nestled in a wonderfully quiet neighbourhood, it offered a sense of calm that felt almost otherworldly. Bright and Beautiful

Kathy, the host, is like a helpful ray of sunshine. The home is beautifully decorated, super clean, and a short walk from the shore. The kitchen is well appointed with equipment to cook well. The bed was comfortable. High ceilings and many windows make the space very bright. Would be a good winter get away!

Just pure paradise

My husband, sister and I came to Vancouver Island looking for a place to retire to… Cowichen Bay is a slice of paradise and our stay with Kathy and Gary was perfect… from the homemade muffins to beautiful coastline. The neighborhood and neighbors could not have been nicer or more welcoming. This just might be our new home… at any rate, we will be back for another stay at the cottage… better than any 5 star hotel we’ve ever been to. Thank you soooooo much to Kathy and Gary for their hospitality.

Wonderful!

Apart from the fact that the hosts were the nicest and most caring I have ever met, the apartment is a dream. Flooded with light, perfectly and lovingly equipped and very clean. The location is wonderful: quiet and close to nature, right by the sea and forest, and at the same time close enough to reach, for example, Victoria or other destinations easily by car. I have found nothing like this nearby.

Newly retired, we are excited to share our carriage home and have endeavoured to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. As we live next door, on the other end of our 1.6 acre ocean front property, we will be available if needed, in person, or by phone, but will also fully respect your privacy.

Kingscote, the original founder of this area, apparently chose this particular property to settle on. Situated between old-growth trees, and the ocean, it provides a beautiful, serene setting to unwind. There are no street lights so it is a great place to star gaze on clear nights. It is also home to a variety of birds and other wildlife, and we regularly hear the call of the resident barred owl in the quiet of the evening.
