Rose Hill's Estate Guest Quarters Apartment is part of Rose Hill's five acre estate at the top of the hill in the Village of Watkins Glen overlooking Seneca Lake. Feels like you are in the country but just down the hill is the Harbor Hotel and the Village of Watkins Glen with all the pleasures the Village has to offer. The Guest Quarters is a great getaway for a long weekend of sightseeing, wine touring, bike riding or race car driving. Stroll down the hill to the Village and enjoy an evening on the town. Glen Mountain Market is a great coffee stop in the morning or just sit on the porch and sip your coffee and take in the breathtaking lake view. Minutes to Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins International Race Track and lots of wineries and breweries. Don't forget to check out our Cheese Trail, you'll be glad you did. Watkins Glen is 25 minutes from Ithaca and Cornell University to the east. Travel 25 minutes to the west and you will find Corning and the Corning Museum of Glass which is a 'MUST SEE'! Travel 30 minutes to the north and you will find the quaint little towns of Geneva on the Lake. Continue another 10 miles and you will find Seneca Falls home of the Women's Rights Movement. Hammondsport is great little town on Keuka Lake with lots of fun shops and is 30 minutes to the northwest. Wherever you drive you will fine vineyard scattered hillsides and spectacular views of the lake. Watkins Glen and the surrounding area will astound you with its beauty. Rides in the countyside will take your breath away. A must see is Watkins Glen State Park with its gorges and glens of cascading water. Visit the local wineries, breweries and cheese farms. For race car fans our local Watkins Glen International Race Track is continually running events all summer long. Summertime festivals most every week.

About the owner: My husband & I have had a summer vacation cottage on Seneca Lake for the last 40 years. We had been living in southwest Florida and managing our resort on Longboat Key and summering at our cottage on Seneca Lake. We sold our resort 2008. Due to family we moved to Watkins Glen and bought this estate house at the top of the hill with 5 acres and a beautiful lake view. We also bought a local marina (Frog Hollow Marina) that also needed lots of TLC. So we went from the good life as they say of retirement to a life of having fun working. The house was totally cool but needed lots of TLC. We contemplated a B&B as the main house has 6 bedrooms/ 4 bathrooms and two 1/2 bathrooms. The house is a 5 year project and every year it remains a 5 year project. The guest quarters apartment had not been used for many of years by the previous owners so after deciding not to do a B&B we fixed up the Guest Quarters Apartment for a vacation rental. This year (2015) we are adding The West Wing Guest Quarters consisting a of bedroom/sitting room/bathroom. Our two separate quarters are a great place to hang out when visiting Watkins Glen and the surround area. Feel like you are in the country but just walk down the hill and you are in the heart of The Village of Watkins Glen. We love that we are so close to everything but so far away.

We are directly up the hill from the beautiful Harbor Hotel. We do have a car garage if you need to get that special car out of the weather. This is a one of a kind place for your special get away. We do except small pets under 15 lbs only in the Guest Quarters.
