About the property

1 BR cabin, Large Windows, wrap around porch, creekside

Excellent location! Wrap around porch, rockers, Creek-side, large windows, fully equipped kitchen. Listen to the creek as you fall asleep on full size memory foam. Cuddle by the Fire, Watch leaves fall. Feels miles away but just 3 miles to town. Perfect for 1 or 2. Hiking, kayaking, snow skiing, resting.

The Space

The cabin is our getaway and now you can enjoy it too. I keep kitchen basics on hand for my use and yours and there is plenty of space for your stuff too. It is like staying in your friends house... but she is away.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is composed of retirees and some young couples. Houses are within sight but just enough distance for privacy and peace.

*4WD or AWD is necessary during deep snow. If you are making a winter reservation please keep this in mind.

Why Liz Hoffman chose Blue Ridge Mountains

The location is great. You are near town but feel like you are out in the country.

What makes this cabin unique

Rocking chairs, fireplace, large windows. Kick your feet up. It is clean but not pristine.

Relaxing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our relaxing weekend in this cozy cottage. The area is quiet so we could listen to the stream flowing just outside the door. We highly recommend a stay here if you like peace and quiet with quick access to Boone and Blowing Rock!

Perfect Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

Exactly what we wanted. Had a little snow on the ground when we arrived. Close to everything. But best for rest and relaxation. Loved it!!

Will probably be back.

Quaint & Clean

  • 3 of 5

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in that area of Boone. It was convienient to go both south and north of the property. The yard was, however, a little overgrown, so we stayed on the porch more, than enjoying the area by the stream.

Does not provide basics - clean room, hot shower and comfortable bed.

  • 1 of 5

The cabin is dank and musty. There is no hot water – there is enough luke-warm water for 1 brief shower. After hiking all day, only 1 person gets a shower and it’s a cool shower at that! The bed is lumpy (the larger person needs to sleep on the side of the bed closest to the driveway to even the bed out.) The towels are shockingly old and threadbare (like the towels you have at home to wash your car). The kitchen is dirty. You can’t sit outside to enjoy the creek because the porch furniture is filthy. Additionally, the road is right next to the cabin so when in bed, you are not listening to the creek but to truck noises. Would rate this cabin just above camping out. VRBO system will not allow me to give zero stars, so I will give 1 star rating because cabin has good wifi.

Owner's Response: I am surprised by the negative review compared to the other guests who enjoy the cabin. The bed is a high end firm mattress with a memory foam topper and guests often comment on the comfort of their sleep. The road near the bedroom is a secondary road with little traffic so if you are listening for the sound of trucks... big trucks cannot travel that road... but regular cars can and you may hear one pass every few minutes. I guess it is all a matter of what you focus on... the constant sound of the creek or the occasional sound of a car. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Guest comfort is of utmost importance. The cabin is not for everyone.
