We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous property that exceeded our expecatations and fit our family perfectly! Only recommendation would be that they add WiFi for those that need to check in at home while they are away!

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful. Plenty of room for a large group. Actually, when we arrived, we decided it really is was a 7 bedroom home. There are 5 very comfortable bedrooms and the 6th bedroom is the picture that shows a queen size bed on steps , but the room also includes a king size bed. Our family really enjoyed the rec room as it was raining a good deal of the time. We would rent this home again.

Great winter stay in gold country

  • 5 of 5

We had a reunion of sorts with a group of old college friends, spouses, and toddlers getting together for a long weekend. This house was perfect for our needs.

Location: It's pretty off the grid, a good 10 miles or so outside of Georgetown, at around 4,000 feet, on a big, beautiful, forested lot with a big pond (looks great for summer swimming). If you're going in the winter bring chains - the driveway is pretty steep and might be tough to get up if you don't have 4WD. It's a straight shot up the main road nearby to get much higher - several lakes, mountains, many trails, etc. That road isn't plowed (higher up) in the winter, so we made it around 15 miles up the road before it was blocked by snow. The kids had a great time playing there.

House: Huge, beautiful, and cozy. There are two nice wood burning stoves, but bring extra wood if you're staying very long - there's only enough wood for one fire per stove. The beds and linens are very comfortable, and the rooms are all pretty big. The kitchen is big, well stocked, and great for a group (like ours) that likes to cook. I'd suggest you plan on cooking at least some of the time, too, since there aren't a lot of restaurants close by.

Note there's no wifi, and very limited cell phone reception (intermittent on Verizon, zilch on AT&T and T-Mobile). But hopefully you're coming out here to enjoy unplugging and getting off the grid.

All in all, this is a beautiful house for a somewhat remote getaway. I hope to make it back for another visit.

Beautiful Spot and great house!

  • 4 of 5

Thirteen of us gathered at this lovely spot for my nephew's wedding in Coloma. There were a couple glitches at first, but the owner quickly resolved them. The spot was so beautiful and we all enjoyed walking around the lake. The little ones loved finding caterpillars and other exciting critters, the stream & little waterfalls. The house was perfect for all of us. We had our own space and there was plenty of room for the kids to play & run around. They were disappointed the paddle boat was full of water & unusable. We spent a lot of time doing wedding events down in Coloma and all wished we had more time at the house to relax and enjoy it. Would definitely book it again. Would recommend it to friends.

Everything you could want. Fun for kids and adults

  • 4 of 5

This house easily handled 4 families for the entire week. Six complete bedrooms and lots of outdoor space. There is fun for everyone, kids and adults. The pond was a bit murky but provided hours of entertainment on the boats as well as refreshing swims on hot days. We would definitely go back.
