Everyone gets sick. Whether it is congestion, headaches, or stress - we hope our Panacea By The Sea will stand up to her name
Unlike most other prescriptions, Panacea By The Sea always goes down smooth.
Delightfully placed in St. John's Coral Bay, Panacea is a recently remodeled Caribbean cottage featuring two spacious - not to mention tastefully appointed - bedrooms, with bathrooms designed for convenience and comfort.
Boasting one of the very exclusive beachfront lots on the island, Panacea has everything to make your stay memorable. We offer our own lustrous white beach for your content, along with all the amenities one would expect for a perfect get away. Coconut trees grace a beautiful botanical treat with a picturesque view onto the azure ocean!
For those who value the peace and quiet that St. John has to offer, Panacea is serenely placed in the exclusive Johnson Bay community. Backing to the forest, Panacea offers a unique merging of the island's songs with the cool lapping of the ocean's waves.
With the ocean's nursery just a splash away, snorkeling in Johnson Bay will render you aghast at the beauty that the island can provide.
The open floor plan of our home offers a constantly flowing cooling breeze from the sea. An expanded veranda provides for a relaxing environment - whether your are soaking your troubles away in our hot tub, or enjoying some champagne with a romantic evening supper.
Dining choices are anything but limited in Coral Bay, but if a homemade gourmet treat is in the works, a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal.
Joanna and Jarek visited the Island over a decade ago and instantly fell in love with the beauty of it. Soon, having a one week timeshare at the Westin was not enough. Trying to find the perfect home for many years, they finally stumbled upon this diamond in the rough! Tirelessly working to perfect their little slice of heaven, Joanna and Jarek finally have decided to share Panacea with the world!
Simply, because it is Paradise found!
Over two thousand years ago, our home's serene location was already inhabited by the first locals, the Arawak natives. It is a truly magical place, as history has shown!
Panacea by the Sea offers an unique beachfront property which is symbiotically protected by the cove. This allows for undisturbed snorkeling and kayaking as well as easy access by water to all the wonders that Coral Bay entails. Being private without having to suffer exclusion, Panacea is a the perfect place to stay for either newcomers or island veterans.
I cannot say enough about this wonderful house. It is the best equipped and cared for rental house I have ever stayed in. The photos do not do it justice. It is on the quiet side of a quiet island - complete relaxation from the minute we arrived. Stunning views from every room, fabulous large deck, calm waterfront. It was hard to leave. The owner and caretakers were fantastic. Thanks again. We hope to return soon.
We stayed at this house last week and really enjoyed it. The location is beautiful and convenient to the quieter side of the island. Of course, nothing is too far away on this small island, but it was nice to be close to several options for groceries and some good restaurants. It also did not take long to get to some great snorkeling and hikes. (Our favorites were Waterlemon, Trunk Bay, and Salt Pond Bay (hike Rams Head early in the day, because the end has little shade, then snorkel out to the far left))
The house itself is well maintained and has everything you might want. The kitchen in particular has a wide array of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other cooking tools. We were also happy to have a washer & dryer.
Because I try to understand the layout of a house before renting, I'll share a little more than I could get from the pictures: in the center of the house is an open kitchen / dining area / couches & TV area. There are 2 sliding glass doors looking out to the patio and water (great view!) On either side of this space are the two bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom (large shower stalls, no tub) and sliding doors with the same wonderful view. They each have there own split a/c system, which are effective and quiet (not at all like the window units I usually assume when I hear that there is a/c only in a specific room). There is also a small utility room near the front door & kitchen area with the washer & dryer, beach towels, etc. The patio is large, with a dining table, lounge chairs, gas grill, and hot tub. Although I usually like hot tubs, we never used it because the weather was warm enough that I wasn't excited about getting warmer. The backyard is a sandy area with a nice hammock. There's also an outdoor shower and hose to rinse snorkel gear.
The only slightly negative thing I can think of is that the large DVD collection didn't match our tastes (mostly older movies). Really not a big deal.
After visiting Kauai (where you cannot get away from chickens & hear roosters everywhere), I was concerned when I heard that there are feral chickens on St John. We only occasionally heard them from this property and they did not wake us up, like they did in Kauai. They also have a gate to keep donkeys out. I think I heard one once from the house.
If you are unsure if you need to bring any specific items, you should ask instead of dragging extra stuff along. Both the owner and house manager were lovely to interact with & helpful.
Our family (2 adults and 2 kids, 6 and 11) spent a week here and the house was perfect for our needs. The "fenced" in yard meant the kids could play out back without water worries. The view is incredible, the grounds are full of gorgeous flowers and plants. House is stocked with everything you could wish for and is conveniently located close to restaurants and grocery stores. Its in perfect condition (honestly the photos do not do it justice, much larger than it looks). We chose Coral Bay because we like the quiet side of the island better than Cruz Bay. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!!
Photos and description are very accurate: the house is clean, comfortable and well equipped with anything you might need - including cooler, beach chairs and towels. There is a lot of inside and outside space to enjoy. Loved seeing the moon and stars from the deck and relaxing in the hammock. The house manager is fantastic - we spoke on the phone and she stopped by the day we arrived - lots of very useful information about transportation, beaches, other activities in the area and the house. Her personal touch was wonderful and much appreciated. We were there over Christmas and the decorated tree helped us feel festive. The owner also responded to emails very quickly and was very efficient.
There is a small, friendly grocery store - Calabash Market - and a good restaurant - Shipwreck Landing - about 10 minutes away by foot, although you will be walking on the side of narrow, winding roads with little shoulder. We were glad we had flashlights to make us more visible when we were walking home in the dark after dinner. Very good food at the Concordia Eco Resort, as well, which is a short drive from the house. Note that the house is on the quiet side of a quiet island, so if you want to be closer to more restaurants, shopping etc., you might prefer a different property closer to Cruz Bay. St John is gorgeous with many things to do - we went to a different beach every day, snorkeled and did a little bit of hiking and a lot of relaxing.
My wife, our 4 month old daughter and myself loved our stay at Panacea by the Sea. The house sits nicely secluded with only one neighbor directly at the sea overlooking Coral Bay. We loved the fantastic porch that gave a lot of shade for our a little daughter and enough sun for my wife to get a nice tan. There is a private beach with palm trees directly in front of the house that is seperated by a hedge from the sea. The water is clean. The entry was sandy and easy. We found the house very friendly decorated with nice colours and everything was in great shape. The kitchen was well equiped and we enjoyed the BBQ. For our little family this was the perfect spot for vacationing and exactly what we were hoping for: Relaxing in a secluded place with direct access to the sea with nice view. Joanna: Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful house with us.
Our family of 4, which includes two teenage girls, absolutely loved our stay at Panacea by the Sea. We enjoyed the view and our mornings and evenings on the sizable deck. Panacea also features lush gardens and a little beach. It's perfect and has enough amenities for just spending time in the villa, but it also accommodates those who love adventure and to explore and just need a quiet place to sleep. The kitchen is big enough to cook and enjoy home made meals, but some awesome restaurants on the island that we suggest include Vie's Snack Shack (excellent conch fritters, johnny cakes, and garlic chicken!) and Miss Lucy's. Also, our daughters took the opportunity to sing at the open mic night at Cafe Concordia which provides the complete package with great views, delicious food (try the passion fruit pie!), and friendly people. Whether watching or performing, Cafe Concordia is an awesome place. Also, some beaches/bays we suggest are Salt Pond Bay and Maho Bay. Both are quieter than some of the other more popular beaches. Speaking of more popular beaches, we did go to Trunk Bay just to see what it is all about. If you go early, the beach is not too crowded and you should take the opportunity to snorkel on the underwater trail. There was a lot to see. We got to see a sea turtle. If we can get back to St. John in the future, we'd definitely stay at Panacea by the Sea again. Our week couldn't have gotten any better. :)
