We're originally from Scotland and have lived in Kings Lynn for over 30 years. Keen travellers, we have a holiday home in Scotland and regularly take city breaks in Europe.
Kate Duncan purchased this apartment in 2013
We renovated the apartment recently and replaced everything. It's situated in an historic building, right in the medieval part of Kings Lynn which is where we live also. It's peaceful and quiet but steps from lovely restaurants and bars and everything's within walking distance.
The apartment and building have such character and history. We've managed to keep that charm, even while re-modeling the inside, so it feels like a hotel.
We were visiting my parents from New York and this area is so idyllic. The cobbled streets, the pub next door, the river and the sunsets, everything in walking distance (and I mean closer than Manhattan). You can't ask for a better location in this lovely little market town.
The historic apartment is in a building that's hundreds of years old, but inside it's been fully renovated with what seems like a brand new kitchen and bathroom, carpets etc. Stylishly furnished. Very cosy. We had shortbread and wine waiting for us upon arrival, which was such a nice touch after a long journey.
We had a car and Kate, the owner gave us the option of a parking pass or a private parking space in the courtyard. We had a rental car, so didn't mind parking on the quay. The beds were soft and the linens were so comfortable, we asked the owner where we could buy our own.
We'd return here in a heartbeat and have already booked for all of March next year. Thank you Kate and Rod for such a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our short stay in this lovely apartment, which was in a great location.
What a treat! A well furnished appartment, nicely located in the town's centre. It was exactly what we were hoping for.
We spent about a week at this flat and it exceeded our expectations. It was larger than we were expecting with a great common area for visiting and plenty of room for our young children to play/crawl. We were a little uncomfortable with our young children being in a room on the opposite side of the flat (had to walk past the entry/kitchen and through the common area) so we ended up sharing one room and it was still plenty of space for the 4 of us. It was a little tight on space for unpacking/hanging clothes for 4 people and bathroom storage was limited but we made it work. We come from N.America and I know that what we are accustomed to can be different but, overall, we were very happy to book this apartment. It was a very short walk to the shops and we were lucky enough to have been staying during one evening of a festival on the square. Excellent location. We will definitely be booking again when we return to Kings Lynn.
This flat in a medieval building offers very comfortable modern facilities, including two en suite bedrooms, an inviting lounge and a small but functional kitchen. The flat is located in the medieval waterfront area of King's Lynn, within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants, a Sainsbury's (and a launderette), as well as the lovely Minster and the waterfront. Parking is usually available on the quay (free) or if not in a city lot (not free) within two minutes' walk. We found this a perfect pied a terre for exploring north Norfolk.
We stayed here recently while visiting family in Kings Lynn. The location is excellent, very convenient and in a lovely old building. The apartment is very smart and well appointed, and had everything we needed. We will definitely try and stay here again the next time we are in town. Thanks very much.
